    Re collecting football kits.

I've just picked the brains of a friend of mine who retired recently from education, and she suggested we contact the Physical Education development officer at our local councils, as this project ticks all sorts of boxes for global citizenship, recycling etc.. The PE development officer would be able to roll this out to schools through internal post/email, and an agreement could be reached about collecting the kits.

I'm off to make that phone call.

Goodness me - I'm offline for an hour or so fitting the new router and look what happens.

I like the idea of up comng together and forming a micro-financing project - will need to get someone to look into the whole legal ins and outs of it.:j:j

Don't want the Matrix charged with money laundering:rotfl::rotfl:

But brilliant idea - for most of us getting off and rolling, whats not needed is loads of money, but a little money, a little practical help, a place to bounce ideas around where you don't get shot down in flames and a lot of cheerleading from the sidelines.

:j:jWE already have three of the four - so lets see what we can do to get the fourth in place................... SO HOLD THAT THOUGHT until we take some legal advice.

So until Tuesday - and until we get hold of someone with the skills to set this up properly - lets forge ahead and generate the money for OliveOyl using what we have in place - including Claires very generous offer.

The the next step will be to spend the time to set something up that will allow us to touch lots of lives...........:T:T

You lot are just brilliant - to take this well beyond the purpose of the coaching call this morning.

BTW: the purpose of this mornings excercise was to challenge me into - thinking like a creative business builder so that in the future when I come up with a huge problem (like raising a huge amount of money in a short time) I won't be afraid to jump right on in and take some massive and creative action.

But you lot took it waaaaaayyyy beyond paying for some freight charges and came up with a totally briliant idea to help many more people.

    Whats the plural of Genius???

  • Clairwop - love the birthstone earrings. I think the novelty footballs might be more popular close to a big tournament but less so at other times. Look at any world cup and you see people wearing stuff they would not venture out in at any other time. :rotfl: I am sure they would sell well as Christmas presents, raising lots for the cause and helping your sales figures and feedback on the website too.

I too was pondering last night about the possibility of investing in MG - must have been something in the air or in the universe:rotfl:Would be happy to throw my hat into the ring with a contribution.

I paid for my day in Leeds via paypal yesterday, it was very quick. Is this an option to meet the Tuesday deadline if MG already has an account?
  • Result of phone call is the email address for the relevant person in sports development for Stirling. I'll also do Falkirk, Clackmannanshire and Perthshire.

There are 2 schools of thought - either the boring geniuses, or just genius (like the plural of sheep is sheep!)

Edit: And a third - which suggests Genii- as in cacti, octopi and loci... Oh, I love the English language :)
