It sounds like these probably would need to be seperate to 'kit for kids' which if more than a 'one off' might need professional advice as to the legalities of charities.

Just trying to throw some more ideas into the mix :)

Se, absolutely correct - for the Kit for Kids we need the people with products now to contribute so it is a collective undertaking (this way we probably would exceed the needs for this occasion and prove that we can actually organise the Matrix financial side).

If we go for a Matrix Fund along the lines you mentioned this is long term.

One can achieve a lot with a good word but with a good word and some cash one can achieve so much more.

Absolutely, feel free, there will be sports development officers or similar in every local council.

Thanks Firewalker for explaining PSB + 10%, just couldn't get the context for the abbreviation. Doh!

Claire - I like your wording re the Kits for Kids jewellery.

So I wondered if we could extend this to a pool of £££. I don't know how much we could collect, I don't know if it would give a return on the investement, I haven't thought about the details.... We could use then use it to fund ideas/investments/projects within the matrix. It would obviously have to be repaid by the user so that it could be used again for the next project (so no doubt there are loads of legal implications) but don't shoot me, it's just a tiny embryo of an idea....

Flame me if you think it's b***s***.

This is exactly it - the question is when and how we start it? If now we will have to agree on a set initial sum - we can think of it as our initial membership fee. From it we can pay the transportation and if needed support members with small sums when needed (I am assuming that MG will manage to sell the books because we are working on this as well; but if she need a small balance it would be better to borrow from the Matrix fund rather than nasty bank; at least we are not going to reposes her house;)

After that we can build up serious fund by voluntary self taxation. What concerns me is that this needs very serious working out because it can become substantial very soon - needs governance and agreement on rules (what we fund when we fund how we decide; where we invenst the fund; who can look after that;). All tricky questions.

Also I am not sure details should be discussed here - we probably will need to keep somethings in the Matrix. Sorry, no better way to say this one, really.

I think I mentioned ages ago investing in MG but can't remember when and had no specific ideas! I have to say though I won't be able to invest any time soon... Just took my car to the garage as the handbrake light was on permanently, not only did they charge me £23.50 for just having a look.... it needs £350 of work doing.... I'm not a happy bunny, I was so getting my debt busted and now another setback, I think it's going to start costing me quite a bit of maintenance.

This is OK - our stregth together is the aggregate of our separate strengths. So your first task should be to sort yourself a bit. When the time is right you just jump on.

Did I imagine it or is there not a film out this week or next about a kid travelling to the football stadium in SA for the World Cup? Going to be as big as Slumdog Millionaire... Maybe the promoters would like to help with the carriage in return for a link with filming about the Matrix?
