I sadly have to report that my contact ( through my son) who was going to design a logo is too busy to do it for today - have pm'ed Olive and told her. I really hope someone else can come up with something quickly. Slinks off with tail between her legs ......... :o

:rotfl: hi Triker i thought i had better check out what you were all chuntering about!!! Dont know if I will be much help but will keep popping in.

the showbox appeal is run by Blythswood and they have depots in medway, Glasgow, Bristol, and Liverpool - they might be able to give advice re the shipping because they get their stuff delivered for Christmas.

what about approaching the courier companies and Royal mail to see if they would be prepared to airmail a consignment for free - like a pallet of a number of boxes? If there was storage at the other end you could start sending boxes out so at least there was some children getting the shirts and it would be good to see the target at this end dwindling?
And what about the airlines - they love good publicity - what about Richard Branson - asking him to fly the tops out in time for Christmas on a virgin freight flight?
    more ramblings later

Ok the project worker is going to ask in group on the weds and thurs and collect shirts so, will then give to ds1 and 2 to bring home. And she is going to have a word with her boss about asking internationally :eek; So we would have to find collection points from them if it is allowed to go ahead.

I think I need posters/leaflets quick. So the boys can give to their project workers to give out in group.

  • I havent had a chance to go thro the other threads yet so this may already be there and if so can someone please point me in the right direction?

Could someone design a poster about the challange asking for the shirts that we could all access and run off - to hand into schools, sports clubs, football clubs, work notice boards, churches etc etc etc we would all then be using the same info and there could be a central contact name/no./email etc and we could also put on our own if we were able to help with collection etc.

I expect I am being a bit dim (it does happen) but could someone confirm the web address for the charity - tried kits4kids and it came up with helping children in and around Asia! (is there even a website yet?)

Why not target the supporters club shops. Its logical that the majority of the people visiting them would be purchasing kits and are likely to also own last seasons strip or outgrown kit. Asking them to set up a collection point for old kit would be straightforward.
