Cherisong, my suggestion for the poster would be to have a blank box on it, for "us" to put our contact details in. I'm rather hazy on the rest of the required info ;)

Can I try and clarify, are we collecting whatever shirts/kit we can and then sorting it....personally, I don't like appeals that are too selective in what they ask for and i feel that by only asking for Premiership shirts, we could put d. Also, the teams in the premiership do change each year.....if Liverpool don't get their act together, they will be going down :D
Oh please take that dagger from my heart :(

    HI

Can MG / someone please clarify exactly what you want collecting/ sending and to where

    <<confused.kazwookie.here.com:rotfl::rotfl:!!!)

Any kits, from any team, small league, premier league, local teams. Any football shirts age, size as long as its a football shirt/kit I think thats right.

  • I think this is a brilliant idea - however........

There are already two big charities doing this for South Africa. One is Football4Africa and the other is one that I donated football shirts to at a sports shop. (JJB I think) They have big tubs in the shops that you put the old shirts in. I think it was called World Cup Kids

I thought I'd just let you know in case there were any implicatons of 'copying'

I hope you reach the 10,000 - and I will gather as many as I can to help you

I wonder if this is a way to take advantage of a pre-existing logistics setup...

Can Olive's charity register its desire with the two listed above, and take the 10,000 that we collect from the existing charities...

I dunno - just an idea - as it's logistics we're stumbling over....

OK I've tried to come up with some format for wording. How's about this:

10,000 SMILES FOR CHRISTMAS - Kits 4 Kids

The Katha Day Centre in Katlahong, South Africa is aiming to bring smiles to the faces of children in the form of Football shirts for Christmas.
The Centre provides day care and after school support to the children of child-led and grandparent-led families affected by HIV and Aids.
The Centre would like to be able to hand out 10,000 football shirts to some of the most vulnerable children for Christmas and the best thing is your donation won't cost you a penny.
Do you have any old football shirts that and your family have outgrown? Any size from child to adult gratefully accepted and by donating you will be helping to bring a smile to a child on Christmas morning.

Any donations can be left with

    [blank space for contact details]

Many thanks for your support for Kits 4 Kids.

the Katha Day Centre is a Registered Charity in South Africa.
    Charity Number 031-394 NPO

How does that sound? Too wordy? Not wordy enough? All comments and suggestions for tweaks gratefully received :D

thanks for this. Fortunately we're not duplicating Football4Africa as their collection was for brand new replica shirts run as an amnesty campaign. Presumably pirated shirts are a real problem? They are also covering the entire continent, whereas this is a local charity. Can't find details of World Cup Kids, so can't say if we overlap......

    Facebook page coming soon......
I had to surrender my objections to facebook, what a sacrifice :o

Yours is better than mine - as soon as DD rescues me on the facebook site, I'll add your words and let the matrix know.

I *think* facebook might be the place to keep running totals etc. What else is facebook good for? (I'm tooooooooo old :rotfl:)

    OK, deep breath

We have a facebook page, but now what do I do? :rotfl:

Just look (I think) for Kit for Kids
And then you go and "like" it and "post on a wall" or something :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

The piccie is my attempt at a logo - but I only held it up in front of a web-cam as I haven't managed to scan it in :o (Oh I'm so inept :rotfl:)

Do you think it is OK? I did a cartoon from a photo.......:o
