    Rang up again and still not on system (26/42 days). Andy said that it takes "about 24 hours" so try back in the morning.

    Wonder which will come first; being added to O2's system or getting set up with Sky? One will be done in 7 days...the other could still have up to 31 days!

    Aaron today said it could be 5 weeks...and that Capscan is used by "all financial institutions as an address checker". I'm pretty sure he said all...and I'm pretty sure I have never encountered this...Sky possibly too...and as far as I can recall, O2 were a telecommunications company.
  • I've found O2 pretty good, never had any problems. Might be a bad few phone calls, however I'm with O2 as a mobile network provider so they may treat me nicer!

    Been with O2 since 2003 (contract 3, PAYG 4 years)...so who knows. Plus I'm always nice when I ring up!

    Only one more week to go. Given I gave O2 2 weeks grace, I would have been up and running by now but that's here nor there.

    Day 34 of 42. Will that elusive "it will be up to 6 weeks and no longer" be broken?
  • 02 are very cunning,my friend made a call to sky to enquire about their latest offers,he was not on the phone very long,but when he got his monthly statement he discovered that his only phone call made had cost him £42.and when he called 02 to demand a itemised breakdown of this bill they told him they were unable to provide him with one,he has no option but to pay up,so beware,
  • I'm still not on O2's system (surprise surprise) but I'm now up and running with Sky :D

    So glad I picked them, I'm very impressed so far, just hope it continues like this!

    You actually up and running?

    They came and fitted my line promptly at 8am on Monday and said it'd be up to 2 weeks for activation (which is carp to be honest as the missus needs to do her work from home thingy)...only 7 more days! Ah well!
  • Yeah, the engineer came at 9:30 AM, did some tests then I was able to connect right after he left, I wonder why it will take two weeks for you?
    He said it was probably turned on the night before so he didn't actually have to do much I don't think.
    Have you got your router already? They may turn it on earlier than what you expect.

    No router yet but the phone line is live (I rang Sky on Monday and they said "Your phone line will take 24 hours to show as live on our system". "It's live...I can clarify that as you can probably see I am ringing you from it!". ;)

    Not sure why it would take 10 days to activate. Modem is usually shipped when the confirm the activity (so today) so will give it a go when I get it. You'd usually expect a couple of days to activate.
