Had a bit of a blip yesterday - I checked my npower bill and it said my balance was £211 - I could have cried!! I thought it meant that I had that much to pay off this month :O
Luckily though it's just a "so you know how much you owe us!" email but I was VERY concerned when I first saw it!!
Anyway this year is going well so far, I'm still on target for getting debt-free by the end of it, £300 a month isn't exactly easy but it's definitely doable! My total debt is *only* £3000 now which is a lot better than it was in October last year!0 -
You've done so well clearing your debt so far, and it will be great to see it cleared by the end of the year!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Don't really have much to post about these days! This month I'm skint, but paid a chunk of my CC off and bought some new glasses, now it's just a case of waiting on payday to roll around (as usual!). I cancelled my health plan insurance thing after I'd claimed the money back for my glasses - for the amount I pay in and the payments I receive back it just wasn't worth it being a member any more, so that freed up £16 a month to throw at other stuff! Also got int ouch with Sky and checked my broadband plan - apparently the plans have changed since we signed up so I sorted out changing over onto the new one - for £5 less a month for the exact same thing? Er yes please! So this months bill will be a lot less than usual as it's got money going back onto it from last month because I'd already paid that bill before I rang up about it, then less coming out this month anyway so woohoo!!
Got the few bits of shopping we need for the week earlier today - came to £12 something or other - considering £5 of that was cat food I didn't think I'd done too badly!

I'm trying to get back into writing this in the hopes that it will motivate me a little more.
At the moment I'm putting aside money at the start of every month when I first get paid and either paying it straight off my CC or OD - which is obviously really good! I reduce my OD limit every month and I don't have an actual card for the CC account so I can't spend anymore so the situation IS getting better every month and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel
The only thing is, I feel like I'm not bothering now
I'm still sending the money and paying big chunks off, and I should be debt free in 8 months if I keep up the same repayment level I have been doing which is amazing, but I want to do more!!
I'm coasting along at the moment, and I think that not focusing on my debts as much now, just ignoring them after the chunk I send at payday is done - is going to make me less likely to keep it up after the debt is gone - I NEED to save after that for both my wedding (eeee!!
) and a deposit for a house - and sending the money at the start of the month and not being able to access it is great, but not making an effort to spend less/make more throughout the month means that I'm usually pretty skint come the last week or two before payday, and I know myself well enough to know that if my money was being saved and I had access to it, 1, I probably wouldn't bother putting as much away as I am now (£300 a month), and 2, I would probably end up withdrawing some if not all of the money each month which will royally !!!!!! up my future plans!! 0 -
Bribed my sister to modelling some clothes for ebay for me earlier - am going to spend some time tonight listing them - any money from there would be a nice little boost to my debt-busting fund!

Well I managed to get seven items listed - god it's boring!! :silenced:
If they all sell for just their starting price though I'll be £80.99 better off so I have high hopes for this latest batch - hopefully if these bits sell it will make me more inclined to bother listing more, which would be handy as I've got loads of junk lying round the house which needs getting rid of, and I'm off work this week so have the time to do it!

Woohoo first bid is in!! hahaha
Only a 99p item but it's a start! Nine more days to go before I find out if I am to be minted or skinted! 0 -
£10.99 in bids now! I'd forgotten how exciting ebay can be when you're selling things rather than buying! I really need to sort out more listings though, so much junk to rid myself of!!0

Good luck with the ebay sales, it's very satisfying seeing the cash come in and the clutter go out!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Had a night away on Friday - spent only what I'd budgeted for it, but I *should* have sent it debt-wards instead. Not really making up for it, but I sent another £15 there to round off this years total!
