Well done on the overpayments to the credit card, and getting the phone bill down, you've done really well!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Blimey I'm already slacking on my diary!!

Well not much to report really, sold some of the things I listed on eBay for just over £40 for all of them - that'll make things a bit easier for the end of the month as I've got a retirement do thing I've got to go to on Saturday night - but will try make it a cheap one, especially as it's being held within walking distance of my house!! No taxi fares for me :T
Still not heard back from NPower when I'm supposed to start paying them :S Officially they're supplying the gas & electric now - and as I'm sitting here being cosy and able to use the laptop I can only assume they ARE doing that!
Only a week until pay day now - things have slowed down on the repayment front as I don't have any cash for another 7 days :rotfl:will be nice to see another chunk come off the total next week though!
Having a day out in Manchester on Saturday - going by coach instead of train - takes the same amount of time and saves me about £12? Not bad I think! Will do some xmas window shopping so I have more ideas for what to get for people, and take vouchers for cheap lunch! As I've no spending money I'm *bound* to find something I MUST HAVE  - but that's the benefit of going this week, I literally don't have the option of buying it anyway!!0 -
When I switched suppliers when I moved, I just got a quarterly bill when it was next due. I still haven't got round to setting up a direct debit with them, ought to really, but you may not hear from them until they want paying!
Hope you have a good day in Manchester tomorrow, and I'm counting down the minutes to payday next week too!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Soooo! On Saturday I went out - did take my card with me, but didn't end up taking out any extra money! :A
A few people were going into town afterwards but I said no and I'd go home (save myself having to spend money to get in somewhere, then more to get back home afterwards!), but we ended up staying close to home and partying til 1am Sunday morning anyway!! :T
The free gift from my Grazia subscription has arrived - looks a bit pants really although it's supposed to be fancy stuff - will shove it in a snazzy box with some chocolates and it's one present off the list!
They're not taking the first DD until Nov 1st which is nice with that being after payday!
The money I've made from selling things on eBay is on it's way to my account - first bit tomorrow, then another instalment on Wed/Thur? Another £30 off the card though before the end of the month, can't argue with that :cool:0 -
Well done on managing to have a good night out without taking out extra money!
That's a great idea about using your Grazia free gift as a pressie. Well done on the ebay sales!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Soooo not too much to report this close to pay day! Had some "spare" cash left over in my bank account and was going to send it to my credit card, but decided to pay off my gas bill 2 days early and knock a payment off my outgoings list for next month!

Checked my Sky bill for next month - I can't say the savings have amazed me! At least Orange will be cheaper next month, as an average of the two it doesn't seem so bad! :rotfl:
Covent Garden Soups (2 for £3 @ Tesco!) for lunch for the rest of the week, so tomorrow will be a NSD. :A
I cannot wait for Friday though!! Get another big chunk of debt paid off! Doing it in small bits is nice and I'm really pleased with how much I knocked off this month from "extra" money I've got from various places, but to see it drop below 4k in less than 2 days will be AWESOME!! :eek:0 -
That will be great to see your debt below 4k. I can't wait til payday tomorrow either!!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Well the bank transfers haven't cleared quite yet but - I AM UNDER 4K IN DEBT!! :j
Every grand I knock off has to be a milestone - and this is the first (and smallest!) but WOOHOO!!
So what have I done today?- Bought a couple of xmas pressies from firebox - got 10% cashback from quidco and had a £5 gift voucher to tempt me to shop there again!
- Just organised contents insurance - we've lived here for 6 years and we've not had it before  Anyway another £10 from quidco for that!
- Gas is now officially supplied by npower! £30 a month for that starting in December - still no word on Electricity though...
- First month in AGES that I haven't ended the month by topping up my credit card debt, I actually finished in credit which may well be a first for me..?
- Swapped a meal out tonight for a takeaway in (which my boyfriend treated me to anyway!) saved at least £20?
- Started the budget for the next month already! Need to get some shopping in this week plus expensive bits (loo roll, laundry gloop & cat food!) so will need a solid plan of action for that

:jWell done on getting under £4k woo hoo!:T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Not done anything massively money saving this week

Had a night out on Thursday - cinema & a meal, grand total of £13.04
I suppose that's not too bad!!
Will be doing a new SOA today though since I've moved around a few things and changed some bills and things - I could do with bucking my ideas up again for the rest of the month.
Free listings on ebay AGAIN this weekend - will have to sort some gubbins out for that later today as well :A0
