Top firework tip I learnt from Iain Booth at www.VetUK.co.uk; if you are going out this evening leave the TV and radios on as this will create a normal background noise and drown out the frightening bangs of the fireworks. They also have Eukanuba on offer at 20% off accross the range of large bags!

If thats your only tip then sorry its a none starter.

My EBT doesn't bother with fireworks (i think he lives in his own little bubble!) but my American Bulldog doesn't like them so much. It's weird because we took them out at 6.00pm and a few were going off and at first she barked but then she was fine and walked normally. When we got home we put her in the kitchen with our EBT and she was going beserk, I put the radio on but it didn't stop her. As soon as she came in with us she settled. Its not because she wanted to be in with us - we always put them out when we eat our tea andthey don't care. Odd. She's asleep on my feet right now :)
The more one gets to know of men, the more one values dogs.

What a lot of crap, I'm luck my dogs don't really react but as I live right in front of a park I would need to have the telly on that loud that my neighbours would have environmental health at my door complaining about noise pollution.

My two actually watch the fireworks!

The boy stood outside for a good 40 mins last night just watching the rockets etc, not bothered in the slightest.

The girl got fed up after 5 mins & came back inside & went to sleep.
Always try to be at least half the person your dog thinks you are!
  • I tried locking the catflap a few years back so my two cats couldn't get out and get hurt and put the tv on to create background noise. The male of the two ripped the front of it and went out anyway. Would appear that nothing was going to stop him enjoying the fireworks...:)
