Cheaper Oil for Fuel?

FYI I have just ordered 2000ltrs through Fuel Tool
http://www.fueltool.co.uk
2000ltrs @ 53.6p/ltr, total price inc VAT £1125.60 - baby tanker.
I am 30 miles south of Birmingham on Worcs/Glos border, and it turns out the delivery is coming from Birmingham.
I tried to ring round local suppliers this morning, but they were all too busy to answer, so looks like a few folks (like me!), are panicking a bit.
Hope this helps someone:)Maybe it's just me0 -
I too use boilerjuice to monitor prices. But have not bought from them for years.
There is an unreliable trend for prices to dip in the summer when demand is lower (December is a terrible time to buy!), but so many other factors affect price that there is no reliable rule.
Monitor prices, wait for a drop, guess when the drop has reached the bottom, and buy!
Many people advocate joining a local 'buying group' (large orders = lower prices) but I've found I can get cheaper prices ringing round myself than any of my local groups!0 -
Update on my order from FuelTool
Despite ordering, paying ,and receiving order confirmation @53.6p/ltr on Saturday, this morning the supplier has phoned to say the price was "a mistake" , and wants to charge 57.6p/ltr.
FuelTool has promises on it's website:
"FuelTool is LIVE...
Because FuelTool prices are updated by the actual UK oil suppliers themselves, all prices are live and what you see is what you get!"
and.....
"Easy as 1-2-3...
It really is that simple. Tell us how much oil you need along with your postcode and we will give you the best oil price in your area. If you are happy with the price we will process the payment and get your order on it's way to you."
...so I have emailed to tell them to honour the price, but I doubt it will do any good.
Unless they reply soon and do something for me I cannot recommend them. I will post again when/if i get a reply - meanwhile I think prices can only rise in the short term at least, and I prob have already missed the best prices.
FYI BoilerJuice are quoting me 55.57p right now.Maybe it's just me0 -
If they do not honour the price quoted, complain to your local Trading Standards office.
Even if they don't act, the more complaints/pressure about this issue the better.
Suppliers should not be allowed to quote a price on Monday for delivery on Wednesday, and then charge Wednesday's price.0 -

Had my second delivery from Weboil this week, and not only do they have by far the best price I've found, the drivers have all been really great, happy to offer advice and fit in with us.0

The wheels seem to have come off my cunning plan to buy oil when it dipped under 50p litre, so I just ordered 1,000 litres at 58.7p/litre inc VAT.
Not too bad, still cheaper than two years ago.0 -
I too was holding off in the hope of a lower price but decided to fill up yesterday for the winter at 56.25 p/l for 1200 l (plus vat).0

55.10 ppl for 500 litres, plus VAT from FuelFighter. That's for up to 10 day delivery but actually delivered in two days.0
