Cheaper Oil for Fuel?

Well yes, it is falling fast, particularly the petrol, how long do we wait, got aobut 6 inches in tank, dont need to buy any until Sept Oct, when it will probably go up, does anyone know why its coming down, the only thing I could find was a piece in a newspaper saying America were coming down hard on the oil speculators, if thats the case, maybe it will keep on coming down, what a weird situation we are in, but it can save hundreds of pounds on three weeks ago when it was six hundred and fifty pounds to fill a 1000 litre tank myneighbour told me he paid that.

So if anyone on here has inside informatin about oil prices, perhaps they wold let us all know, ta!!:beer:

I have just topped up my tank with 500 litres of oil and paid 59.71p.

Don't know if this is already well known, but I find this useful:

It will give you the current price from a supplier in the Bristol area - you'll need to supply a suitable post code, I use their own - BS2 9LU. It's hundreds of miles away from me, but I've always find it compares reasonably well with the price here. A few days ago, their price was just over 59p/litre inc VAT, it's now 56.7p.

When I phoned our supplier last week, the price here was 65p/litre.

thanks its 120 miles from me but the price is still competitive so maybe they will get my order next time!

We usually find out if anyone else locally, family or friend, needs oil as well. The suppliers will usually quote a lower rate for a bigger delivery to the same village. Also get a number of quotes( there is always a difference between suppliers), shop around and see if your usual supplier will match or beat a lower quote from an alternative source.

For the past 28 years I have used the same oil supplier and have never bothered ringing around. For the past 18 months,each time I require oil, I have rang 6 suppliers listed in the Cornwall Yellow pages. The cost from my own supplier was at least 10% higher than the cheapest I was quoted.
Each time, I called my own supplier back and said that if he matched the lowest price I had been quoted then I would continue to place my order with them. Surprise, Surprise!!! Each time, they agreed to match the lowest price. So, shop around, you don't even have to change suppliers to obtain the lowest price

Hi greysurfer, I'm afraid you are far from alone, my next door neighbour was exactly the same until I opened his eyes and I'm sure there are many others. They have basically made mugs out of you for a very long time.

Well this will get you going, a big supplier in the East Anglian region is putting a 20p margin on it's oil price if a customer does not get a quoted price. It's absolutely scandalous that they would even attempt this, so make sure you get a price quote.
