I assume any course that i liked the look of at a local college would have to be under 16 hours per week? (assuming they'd be wiling to help with costs which i doubt they would)

Yes, I'm sure your correct on the 16 hours week. Regarding costs, all of those courses I am going on arn't costing me anything, so they might be able to help. You can't just pick one that sounds good though, you have to go through the JC first, I've had good experiences with them though, they call me "a customer" :D

I forgot, I'm doing a basic Maths and English course as well, which for me will be useful as I havn't got any GCSE's at all (put into what used to be called the divvy group at school, so obviously left with no GCSE's apart from something like a G in Child Development, I don't add that to my CV) :D

Just one more thing on costs, the people I have seen have to show a link with any course you do, with the work previous. For example I was able to do a Food Hygiene Course which would lead to serving customers, working in office admin, I've served customers :T Dosn't seem the same thing to me, but there you go.

Although I don't want to go back to office admin work, working for a tree surgeon sounds good to me, but then again I garden in my spare time.

    Im not sure about that.
    You ever log onto facebook?
I have about 200 friends on there, about 150 of them wishing the week away in their status updates, so that they can start the weekend. Endless complaining about hating being at work and how much life sucks. If they could press a button and skip the working week, they all would!
    Lets not kid ourselves.

Having said that, I have worked and I will work again. Im just not gonna be bullied into a job that isn't at all practical for me.

And each of them 150 friends are paying their taxes to allow people like you to sit on your !!!! all day... And i agree, work can be awful, boring, and the rest of it.. but when you get home after, you can have a sense of pride knowing that you are contributing to society, and not just living a life off benefits. Even if it meant working for the same rate as jsa, i would, as i would have to feel like i was dragging society down and i was actually doing something with my life

As stated, I have worked for 4 years, and I intend to work again. Im not quite the Devil im being made out to be. Im just maybe a little too honest about my feelings

Gosh. Four whole years? And 2 GCSE's ? It's amazing that employers aren't queuing around the block for you :rotfl:Exactly what interesting work do you expect someone to give you with such a spotty work record and virtually no education? There are plenty of people with better experience, better records and better qualifications - and not one of them waited until thiose things fell into their lap, they had to go out there are get them all for themselves. Which is what you will have to do too. And until you do, you will have to revise your expectations down accordingly.

    LOL.
    Ouch!!

In fairness though most people my age haven't worked much more than 4 years and they were the only 2 GCSE's I mentioned because they related to the courses I was being asked to go on.
    Try and keep up ;)

Surely you can get a weekly buss pass which woudl be cheaper than buying 5 daily returns or 10 singles depending on what time the job would start
