Yes, id like a job Rhodod, but not one where im about £30 better off per week (after taxes and travel) than I am now, but also spending about 60% of my week on a bus and in an office. Nobody would sell their life for an extra £30 if they were being honest with themselves and not just spitting out righteous indignations across an internet forum.

EXCUSE ME:mad: I have taken work in the past that involved a 90 minute commute each way, working in an office and was no better off than claiming benefits. I did however have my pride and an opportunity to progress, neither of which you are giving yourself the chance to have.
I don't know whether to feel sad for you, or just plain disgusted at your laziness.

Sounds like you want a 50k job where you can sit at home and do nothing.

Sorry, but you sound like a right lazy git, might just be the way you come across, but 1000's of people are without employment in th UK, your offered
a job and you turn it down because its only £30 a week better off.... what about your pride? Knowing that you have worked hard for your money and not having to live off tax payers money.

OP, you really do come across as wanting everything handed to you on a plate. Being £30 a week better off is much better than sitting at home all day doing NOTHING. Thousands of people commute every day of the week for much longer times and likely for the same wages as you were being offered.

If nothing else, the job would be the opportunity to get back into work and interacting in a work environment again.

Some years ago my husband was unemployed - invalided out of the Air Force. He HATED being out of work and eventually got a job that paid the same as the dole (or whatever it was called then). We were out of pocket by £15 a week because of the commute and petrol. However, the difference it made to his (and my) self esteem was amazing. He worked hard and within 10 years was earning £40k plus car and benefits.

After redundancy in that job he had to sign on again and his self esteem plummeted again. He is now on a very low wage but it's a job and he can hold his head up. We just adjusted our spending and way of life to accommodate the low wage.

Working is so much NICER than signing on - well we think so anyway!

I use to have spend 3 hours traveling on a bus a day in my old job, and after travel I only brought home about £100 a week. It is doable.

Yes, thats bascially the same position i'd be in. Either £65 per week (or whatever it is) in my pocket from jsa, or about £100 per week in my pocket (after expenses/tax) from the job.

Also, lets not forget that ive not actually been offered the job! lol
    People are jumping the gun.

Im probably not quite as lazy as some of you believe.
I have about 4 years work experience under my belt in various jobs and im only in my early 20's.
I just honestly think you are mad if you'd rather go to work (a horrible depressing thing in my experience) for the sake of an extra £30 in your pocket.
Now, if i can get a job nearer to me due to not being able to drive then there wouldn't be a problem and id take the job and sign off.

One think you forget you lazy (enter what ever you want) that it is much easier to get normal, proper job, when you go out of a job and not from Job Centre with X month of gap on your CV.

Or do you think that the dream jobs you seem to want land on guys with bad attitude?

Wake up to the real world.

    .

Work is not always horrible and depressing unless you have that attitude! And an extra £30 a week makes a big difference to some people. I have done some horrible jobs in the past for rubbish wages as it fitted in when my children were small - and paid for treats for them.

JCP staff serching for jobs on your behalf arn't paid that much either many having to claim WTC to top up their wages, and, they have the hassel of trying to talk layabouts into attending interviews.
I know because I did it a while ago and had a 45 minute DRIVE to get there, believe me it made me sick having to ring some of the lazy so and so's who, were often still in bed in the middle of the afternoon.
