Debt free in ten years-my new, more realistic challenge.

Thank you for all the lovely comments.
Our lives here have definitely changed.
Today has been a good NSD, though I have been chatting to the company who are going to fit our boiler.
DS3 is still working on chipping out the hall wall. The materials to insulate the walls arrived today. It will make a massive change to the temperature of the house as the hall has been a cold and draughty spot. even if the heating system isn't upgraded until the new Year we can keep what heat we produce from the log burner in the house.

Today we had to go out as my mobile phone completely stopped working. I managed to get a second hand one for £70 at the fone shop.
We had to go and wander around the shops as the Fone shop was transferring all my data from one phone to another. Mr P was with me. We spent £8 on a toy vacuum cleaner, a pop up toy and three puzzles for DGD at two charity shops. We then wandered into the department store where we bought a dozen wine glasses (we only have four left and they are all odd and from charity shops), four candles (not fork 'andles), for us, and a pair of oven gloves for the holiday cottage. We also bought a pair of slippers for Mr P and a onsie for DS3. I now feel as though I have done a little towards Christmas.
Then we wandered across the road to the butchers and bought a ham hock to make some broth, and some sausage meat for Christmas. I already have the joint of beef for Christmas dinner and some of the eleven people who are joining us will be bringing food too.
I spent the huge amount of £140. £70 was business expense for new phone.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Our debt is now under £60000!!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
I have also paid DS3 the £5050 I owed him. It means I have now paid for the cottage carpetsDS3 paid for them originally. And also paid him back for all sorts of other things.
This afternoon's job is to finish writing to all those I owe money to. Not enjoying it but it must be done before Christmas card writing.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

It's lovely that you have some money and are able to pay off some debts.
You do so much for other people it is lovely to read that you are able to buy some of the things you need and also you will have some heat this winter.

I think I am very lucky to have such supportive people on here. Every one of you has done something to help me to keep going and for that I am very grateful indeed.
Last Winter was probably the most difficult and I know from experience how low things can become and so quickly too. I have always wanted to help other people and my lowest time was when I had to go and ask for financial help from charities. I want to give something back, maybe not financially but from my experiences.
Probably, we will get ourselves sorted a bit better, pay off some debts and then see what we can do next.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I'm sure you will find something really appropriate to pay back the assistance you had at your lowest point. I'm so glad that this winter is going to be so much easier on you

I phoned the coop as we had a threatening letter from them and without me even asking they offered us a full and final payment of 75% of what we owe.
Payplan sent me a link to a letter to send to all the companies we owe money to. I couldn't send it as our 10 year old printer was on it's last legs and was refusing to print anything.
I ordered a laser printer which has arrived and I have had a plan with it. Simple things please simple minds....... I had great fun just printing and watching how quick it was.
I spent £99.99 on it, and it included extra toner cartridge so not a bad buy.
Still feels weird spending money.
I haven't been here much as I have spent most of the last few days in the car going to and from garages trying to find the fault on my car. It seems it is the clutch and parts are not available so I have been loaned a Skoda Octavia automatic, brand newLovely car, I am going to miss it when it goes back as it is so comfortable.
Yesterday was visit to DA with her clean clothes. She asked if she could come and live with us until she is better.
We couldn't have her at the moment as we have no central heating and she would freeze here. And the hall is still undergoing work. (In between DSs 2 and 3 being ill with chest infections) She also couldn't cope with the dog so not sure what we are going to do.
I still think she would be better in a home until she is better as she is not able to walk and I can't lift her. Though if she is determined she might come to live here and I could organise extra help.
Today we went to chiropractor as Mr P is still finding it difficult to walk. I made him an appointment without asking him. The chiro says it is sciatica and his muscles have stiffened to counteract the way he has to walk in pain. He gave some treatment and Mr P has to go back on Tuesday. The GP just gave pain killers and really wasn't much help, said it was a hazard of Mr P's job! Mr P cost £50 but money well spent if it works.
It is amazing that Mr P isn't depressed this Winter. I am very happy as a resultbusiness mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I just remembered we can claim back 75% of our chiropractor costs yesterday as we pay to Simply Health. It is one of the things I decided to keep running when we had so little and even Payplan agreed. It has meant we could afford dentists and opticians.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
