  • That's brilliant that you sold the breaks on eb@y!! I'm jealous of the people that will get a lovely holiday, but moreso I'm thrilled that you get much needed funds and have been able to warm up a bit Xx

Holy Moly to the Car bill.
:D to the lovely bath, sounds like it was a well deserved chill out, hope you had lots of bubbles and a good book to read .

Sounds as though you have alot to talk about and figure out. I am sure will come ot a solution thats best for you all. Best of Luck xx

The ethos of a few businesses around here is that they leave paperwork for years. The car bill is probably for about 16 months prior to May. The other garage hasn't sent us a bill since 1994!!! What it will eventually be is anyone's guess.:eek::eek:

You make me feel so much better knowing we are not the only ones who don't have hot water :D:D
Silly as it may sound it seems like one of the greatest regressions for us. It makes me feel like one of those re-enactment programmes where people go back to how people lived in 18th century etc. Today we have hot water, it is like gold :rotfl: .

The best news is that I have sold three short breaks on 3bay. The money has gone straight into the business account tonight via p4ypal to pay the business mortgage tomorrow. Phew! I didn't think we would do it this month.

Funny how we're all different - I don't mind the lack of hot water at all. A couple of weeks ago I heated the water overnight so I could clean the oven. Master Happy was home on a visit and positively squealed when hot water came out of the tap. I explained that I'd heated it for cleaning and he just shrugged and said "Oh right, I thought it had been broken for a few months" :rotfl:

Brilliant news about the mortgage being covered this month, what a relief.
LBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

    Debt Dec 11: Unsecured £69,579 + Mortgage £59,948 = £129,527
Debt May 21: Unsecured ZERO! ZILCH! Mortgage £22,332

It is the hand washing after being to the loo or washing before bed or in the morning. My poor old arthritic hands scream in pain with the cold water. Our water takes such an age to get to the taps it has already cooled down like yours too.

Just what we didn't need. More snow. DSSs1 and 3 can't work because of the weather and Mr P still isn't working.

BUT :D DD has lent us £40 so we can put £20 of fuel in each car. :D
What would we do without our children? I owe them such a lot, not money but kindness and love. I never imagined that we would be leaning on them for help.

Today is PPI reclaiming day for me. I am going to go back to all the original companies I tried before and see if I received answers to my questions etc. CPP are still looking into my claim. :)

Last night I looked into changing electricity provider but have been told we can't change until we are in credit again. The way I am policing electricity use we shouldn't take too long to get back in credit. :D DS3 has asked if he is allowed to have a shower or do I mind if he smells :D

I should have been out for a treat today. My friend had booked us into a lovely restaurant for lunch but we have had to postpone because of the snow. At least I know that I have someting good to look forward to next month instead.

DS1 managed to get to work eventually. he is on a late shift so may need help to get home at 11.30pm. He was very relieved to get out as he doesn't want to take any time off.

Mr P is obviously feeling a lot better as he was out today clearing the lane of snow again :D

Today I have sold a shirt on ebay for £2.50. Not a lot but every little helps.

We still have very little firewood that is useable as the chain saw is not ready for collection yet. Mr P managed to hand saw some timber so we can keep warm. Hoping it will be ready tomorrow as it is such a shame to have spent on the cheap timber not to be able to use it when we really need it. We had to spend £3.70 on just 12 logs from the petrol station!!

More good news about 0% credit. B4rclaycard have offered 0% balance transfer so I tried to transfer from my L1oydstsb card to my B4rclaycard and found that I got an error message and was logged out. Retried about 10 times and gave up so must make sure I do it tomorrow.

Today I babysat for DGD while DD went to work for a few hours. While I was there DS3 came round to help. We had a discussion on whether it is okay to use someone else's hot water for a shower while babysitting. Not that we are becoming obsessed with money saving :rotfl::rotfl:

I have had to add to our credit card debt today by £145 to pay for Mr P's vehicle warranty as there is not a penny in his business account. We will also have to pay his insurance out of our personal account this month unless he is able to do some work soon. Even if he felt up to it he can't work because of the snow at the moment.

At least good news on 0% card.
Hope that you can get transfer sorted out tomorrow.

    £180 transferred to 0% until Feb 2014:j:j:j:j

Not a lot but as I keep saying every little helps.

We received a £50 deposit cheque for a cottage booking today too. I do much lower deposits than my friends do on their cottages so I am thinking of increasing it.

Mr P has told me that the hens have run out of food so what is left from mybenefit payment into our account today has gone on hen food :( He is going to see if he can find any cheap fruit in the local shops as we have none left.
I wanted Mr P to buy some antibacterial cleaner for the cottage but he said he thought I had bought some in bulk last year. True enough I found a 5 litre bottle of it :D It is a good thing someone is on the ball in this house.

Still no chain saw. The required part has still not appeared at the repair company. Then it is a 50 mile round trip to collect it. My, things are really tight still with Mr P not working. Not sure we have enough fuel in the car to go and collect it.

I am feeling the cold so have asked for an assessment for the Green Deal.

My 90kg rice challenge is going well. Over half now sold.
