Thank you for your sensible ideas. Have I missed your birthday? I hope not.:D
Granny too Thank you
As it seems it was official melt down day yesterday I managed to have a mega melt down. It all started with a phone call to the electricity company who demanded £180 a month for our house only, the cottage is paid for and not on the same meter. I couldn't help starting to blub when I told Mr P what they had said.
He went totally overboard and that upset me even more. He said that every thing he does is wrong and everything has to be done my way.
It is because I have been turning lights off in empty rooms. He reacted by unplugging extension leads with indicator lights on all over the house and unplugged timers because they use electricity, anything with an indicator bulb to show it is on was unplugged/turned off. In the evening we had no lamps, no TV etc, no leads to charge laptops etc etc. We then had a major row as I was trying to reset timers and turn things back on that we really needed. As a result I slept on the sofa for the very first time in 29 years together.
Mr P came down at 5.30am and said it was my turn to sleep in the bed!! Of course I couldn't. So two nights with hardly any sleep and if anyone speaks to me or looks at me I start again.
I think the stress of having a husband who isn't well and trying to shield him from debt worries has taken it's toll. Once the flood gates were open they wouldn't stop.
Pinot I would love to share the manic smiley grin with you pleasexx I do hope things start to improve for you very soon. :grouphug:

So sorry to read that yesterday was a melt down day.
In a way Im not surprised, you are under a lot of stress even without worrying about your DH & DB.
I so wish there is something I could say or do to help.

So sorry to hear you sounding so down my dear Pooh, it really is hard when you are trying to shoulder most of this worry yourself in an attempt to protect others. I think you need Tigger and Piglet to come along and give you a bouncing hug, surely that will make you smile at least.
So just for you:
As you say tomorrow is another day and we are all one step closer to being debt free and have met some great people along the way.

Thank you plmbl and granny. And I love tigger and piglet too
I slept better last night. I think I only woke once. This morning started okay then DS3 who has been an amazing help over the last few weeks phioned me. he had arranged to collect DA and take her to church. I told him 8.45 but he misheard me and went for her at 9.15. He phoned me to ask what time I told him and he said 'no you didn't f*** you!' and slammed the phone down. He has his final exam, an oral, tomorrow morning and he is extremely stressed about it. I have been testing him for a month. Every day. In between doing other things so not all day, but often until 11pm. His reaction to me was totally out of character so I know it is stress causing him to behave that way but my poor head can't deal withit at all.
Later today we are having a family meal , minus DS2 and DS3, but we have DS1 home with us now and DD and DSIL who were all away for Christmas. It is not a Christmas dinner but I have decorated the table as though it is. And I will serve them sprouts whether they like them or not.
Mr P has gone out to try to persuade DB to come for dinner. I don't think he has eaten all week and know he hasn't left his bedroom. (His nextdoor neighbour has been keeping tabs on him). So it is the second time Mr P has gone out and to help someone else. He is very kindhearted.
While he is out I am going to take some photos and list a few things on ebay.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
