I haven't posted because not much happening here. Cottage is still doing well, fully booked until 3rd October, then booked until 31st October. I am not doing anything to promote it!

Mr P and DS2 seems to be in a black fog which has meant no progress on the kitchen.

I have had a go at putting the sealant on the kitchen doors which are now painted but tiny little black hairs keep appearing. I have dusted them carefully, made sure I had clean brushes, even opened a new brush but still the same problem. I am afraid I got very frustrated and gave up trying to paint the sealant on last Friday.

The doors which DS2 removed for painting seem to be much worse tan the doors which are still hung so I am thinking the little hairs must be in the air and landing on a horizontal surface.

I am really trying to get the kitchen completed for little or no extra cost.

My ultimate plan is that we will move into the cottage when we retire and either sell or let our house. It would make a good holiday house for groups of friends or family as it could sleep 10 or more.

On that vane I need to continue the decluttering and selling of things in this house. Maybe as it is so wet and cold today it is a good day for listing on ebay.

Now that made me smile :D And I like spiders.

I am hoping my little black hairs that are appearing on my doors are not living. actually I can see they are just bits of hair. I want to find the source...........

So far today I have folded some towels and erm...... My get up and go seems to have gone. My car has a flat tyre :( No spare wheel or jack so Mr P has borrowed a jack and gone in search of someone who can repair a tyre. It has a huge screw in it.

Business mortgage is under £20000 at last :j:j

I really need to go back to my very frugal times as I am spending too much on day to day outgoings. We have spent £420 on food over the last month.

I went back to 4ldi yesterday as Mr S is costing me too much. Spent £75!! I am buying a lot of fruit as I am trying to lose weight. 4ldi is 24 miles away so we combined the journey with other things.

We collected a bar stool for DGD to sit at the kitchen counter so she doesn't pinch my perching stool. She thinks the perching stool is hers!! It was an ebay buy but cost £40!!!! I could have bought a new one for that but this one is taller than usual so ideal for a little one and has a high back and sides.

From today spending is going to be seriously curtailed.

Thanks for asking verbatim. He has had a few good days in the last week. He has found a job to apply for. He is worried about letting them down if he becomes more depressed again if he does get the job. I hope that doesn't prevent him for applying. It is mainly outdoors which would suit him well at the moment. His doctor told me I should try to get him outside each day as that will help his mood. I have had zero success.

DS3 worked for the same company when he dropped out of sixth form. They are a very good employer.

His best friend from school who he also went to uni with is getting married at end of next week so he plans to go to the wedding. Things are looking up but I don't dare build my hopes up too much.

Mr P and I did the 'budget planner' last night. We are cutting back on personal spending to help balance the budget and I am going to go back to the grocery challenge to try to save some pennies.

Anything saved will go towards visits to DS1 or DS3 in the far flung places they live.

Yesterday I went to knit and natter (£3 as I bought the tea and biscuits) and to see an old friend who I have seriously neglected, in hospital. My friend drove me so I have her £4 towards the petrol. It turned out to be a high spend day for me yesterday

I bit of excitement in the Pooh household. DS3 wants to spend more time with his girlfriend so wants me to try to find him either a job on shore or a job where he is at home on a more regular basis. Currently he is away four months and home two. His girlfriend is from the West coast of America.

Just wondering if I should start a new thread as all personal debt has now been paid off. Any ideas where?

I had a very successful day at the car boot sale on Wednesday. I mad £102 profit after paying for my pitch and DD's fuel costs to get us there. We had DGS with us and he was definitely a draw for customers. We also had our free box which worked very well too.

We are going on DS3's cruise ship for 11 days then on to the Isle of Skye. Everything is paid for including flights. I just have some serious research to do to find ways to visit onshore without spending £75 each for coach transfer and a guide!! I also need to collect / raise money towards the drinks bill on board. I have found tea and coffee is free so that is me sorted :D We just need enough for treats for Mr P, DS3 and DS3's GF.

My aim is to get some more things on ebay this week. I don't have long:eek:
