I am feeling a bit more positive today. Mr P went to the doctor today and DS 2 saw a doctor yesterday. I got a CPN out here and she was amazing. I was worried he would react badly to me 'taking over' again but he needed something.
I had a whole evening alone as they both needed their own space and it did me good. I realised that I wanted peace and quiet too. I sat in the dark watching the fire and it very was relaxing. No TV, no radio, just me and the dog
Mr P and DS2 both have anti depressants to take. Mr P always takes his. DS2 May or may not. We can't force him, he has to want to take them.
I have decided that I am not going to let the rib pain get to me. It isn't going to be here for ever. And I just need to find things to do which don't make it worse.
Ideas tried and discarded;
Knitting
Sewing
Filing
Paper sorting
Tidying, unless it is light and I can carry out easily.
Any ideas of things to do which won't make the pain worse? I am not a good patient. I have loads to do as I have decided to make everyone's Christmas presents.
And some good news. I had a phone call to say I have had my Blue badge renewed. That is wonderful as I can now get my bus pass renewed too.
Still looking for a new thread as I don't think I should be on here now that I have got rid of personal debt. I am aiming to reduce business debt and then mortgage.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Pooh I'm so sorry to hear things are a bit rubbish right now.
Have you seen the doctor yourself to make sure you're getting the appropriate pain relief? I imagine it's very difficult for you coping with the depression in Mr P and DS2, and if you're in pain yourself that will double it.
I think making the Christmas presents is an excellent idea on all levels. It will keep you occupied, it's really useful and creative, and it will save time and money later down the line. Just do a bit at a time when you feel up to it.
If you do want a new thread, how about moving over to the Mortgage Wannabe forum? There's a couple of diaries there that I follow and they're all very friendly and very focussed. Or you could just start a 'business debt' thread here first? Debt's debt, it doesn't really matter where your thread sits, you will still get the same support.

Are you supposed to stay still not to aggravate your injury ? If you are 'allowed' to move, then plenty of painkillers seem the way to go. I was delighted once when I discovered what heaps of people already know, that you can take both Paracetamol plus Ibuprofen, full doses, each day - the cumulative effect is so much better than trying to last out the full 4 hours and wondering if it would kill you to have another lot after 2 !!
Things you can possibly do: make lists!
list of people to make for,
list of suitable creative ideas,
list of stuff you already have that may be useful or re-purposed
list of any shopping that's required,
list of anything you may need DH or DS2 to retrieve from a high or awkward place,
list of remaining days and timetable for making presents etc etc.
Watching a fire is rather like looking at the sea - relaxing, peaceful, de-stressing.0 -
Thank you Happy and elizabeth.
I can't take anti inflamatories because they aggravate my asthma but I found out I can take paracetamol in between Tramadol doses so can eke the painkillers out a bit longer. Also our practice nurse told me that paracetamol is better for bone pain than other painkillers. I can do things but nothing heavy, and I find trying to lean over the table or get to bottom cupboards excruciating.
I will write some lists and get the men to help me more. I have thought I could write my C'mas cards too if I just do a few at a time.
The advice I have is to not do anything that makes the pain worse except I have to take deep breaths every hour or so. And have a walk round every hour too. When I do the walking round I pick up something small or light and put it away in correct place.
I can't knit or sewBut things will get better
Thank you for helping me to be more focussed on what I can do. I don't often feel down despite all that life seems to throw at me and I do feel a lot better about things.
When I went to GP when Mr P was first depressed the doctor told me it isn't catching. I think it is a bit for me as I feel their pain but then have to concentrate on focussing on the positives.
I will have a look at mortgage free wannabe thread as I think I did post on there somewhere a while ago. We have an appointment to see a mortgage advisor on Monday to discuss our mortgage deal coming to an end. I am hoping to reduce monthly payment as Mr P is no longer working and then over pay when I can.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I have organised for five of us to stay in central London for four nights for free. We have swapped houses for four nights in December. The company we use is LoveHomeSwap. Then I bought tickets for two of us to and from London for just £26.50. I did have help from DSIL as he had a voucher for £60 which he said he couldn't use.
So four nights for five people and two return trips to London for less than £30. Now that cheers me up:money:
Pain worse but I have lots of helpers and pain killers so I will be okay.
Most of my potential cottage cleaners for tomorrow are walking 15 miles to raise money and awareness for refugees so we have three 'differently able' persons and DS2 so we should manage okay. I will supervise
DS2 has improved no end since I called emergency mental health line. Mr P will be okay. I don't think us all suffering was doing him any good either.
So all in all a positive day
Tomorrow at 10pm. DS3 flies into Newcastle and leaves on 7 am flightHe has decided to come home overnight then goes off to start his first part of his journey in US. He will be home in time for my birthday and until his fiance visa comes through. Then the wedding
