This is my favourite quote from Samuel Beckett:
' Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.'
Perhaps you've lost track of how far you've travelled, and where you were when you started this thread. From the perspective of a mere observer, you seem to have achieved such a lot, and maintained motivation through difficult times. If you can't give yourself a hearty pat on the back, then let me give one to you !!!0 -
Thank you very much Elizabeth. Sometimes I forget how far we have come.

Yesterday I didn't do any of my list. Not even eating three meals. What I did do was go to DD' s to help look after the grandchildren so she could sleep. She has been awake all night with either the baby or DGD. She was shattered. Then I came home, cooked dinner, are it, then went to bed.
My latest money saving idea is to spin fleece and knit it into useful items. I would love to knit something for me out Mr P or our grandchildren. I was given some beautiful Jacob fleeces yesterday. Now all I have to do is learn how to use my spinning wheel. I was supposed to be having a lesson yesterday.
I am still working on completing my kitchen refurbishment. A little at a time.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

My new cooker hood and splashback are here now. I still have a couple of doors to paint. I bought a mini roller for the doors, last week, and it is making things much easier. It cost £4.50 as it was bought in a local shop!
I am hoping DS 2 will take some tiles off tomorrow to accommodate the new splashback. Then we will reuse some tiles to complete around the edges of the splashback. We didn't have a splashback as the wall is tiled behind the cooker.
I think we have painted 13 doors and 4 drawer fronts. We have used 2 litre tins of paint and two tins of sealer. I bought a tap for the kitchen sink for 20p at a jumble sale. We are going to buy new work tops when we have some spare cash.
Today I spent £1.99 on some orange sticker cake for WI. Then 20p for tea. Mr P stayed in while I was out so that was a saving too.
1. Stretch-forgot
2.Declutter for 15 minutes- done
3.Eat three meals and drink water. I ate three meals but didn't drink water.
4.Save money-yes. See above
5.Pay something extra off business loan-no. Need to check there are no penalties for paying off early.
6.Do something fun. Yes I played with DGChildren.
7.Stick to menu plan. Yes, we swapped days around but stuck to the week's plan.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Kitchen sounds wonderful and almost there.
I'm alwasys impressed with your bookings as you seemto have most weeks filled, even in the winter. I hope it's another good year for you and you get those worktops soon.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
The new splash back went up today. DS 2 finished removing the tiles and then he and Mr P fitted the glass splashback. It looks really good. It will be easier to keep clean which is a bonus for me.
Verbatim the cottage is doing great and is full until October and then we only have one week available in October. This winter we should be able to pay the cottage bills without doing into personal money.
Today I have helped DD with the baby at the allotment. I am shattered. Then went to SW where this week I have gained
We received the RHI for our wood pellet boiler so I quickly transferred the money into my savings account so it can't be spent on daily living. We are determined to keep within our income. Any extra can go on the house, visiting DS s, or reducing our mortgages and business loans.
Mr P and I are trying to be sensible with our spending. I might go back to YNAB now that Mr P has a kindle fire he could keep track of spending too. It might also be a step too far.:)business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
