  • Unfortunately, when one person is trying to do the work/worry of several people, mistakes can happen. I hope Ovo are better at clarifying what will happen next about the direct debit than F1rst Ut1l1ty were with me!!! I was told twice that it wouldn't be claimed by telephone advisors, once by letter it would be, once over the phone that it would be, and once that they didn't know and I would have to wait and see!! Not very helpful at all. To date it hasn't been reclaimed and this month's is due next week!

More good luck wishes heading your way for PIP medical Xx

0vo have sent me an email to say they will collect the money in 10 days and to make sure there is enough in the account. This means that bfirstly I will have to remember, and secondly that Mr P has to remember too not to take out the odd tenner 'because there is a lot in the bank' . For goodness sake, the mortgage is £954 so before it is taken out it looks like we are very wealthy :D to Mr P.

I am supposed to be the one with the bad memory. :D

I do hope they are better than Bt beanie and fir2t utility plmbl

And my PIP medical was cancelled at 12ish, it should have been at 3pm. I have been given a new appointment on 13th March! The first available appointment.

The best bit about today was when my neighbour came in to make some cushion covers. She enjoyed it and so did I. I am going to give her my old sewing machine. She had bought some bundles of fabric which were from my late friend. It was great to be using her old fabrics and remembering her as we sewed.

DS2 has had a bad day but we should expect some. He hasn't left his bed except to collect his dinner from the kitchen..........

  • I hope Mr P remembers and that DS2 has a better day today.

Sewing sounds like so much fun. I love it but haven't had my machine out for ages. I have a box of fabrics too... Hmm.. I saw these really simple things that are one long piece of fabric with two pockets at either end. They go under your mattress to give you pockets. I thought I might make my DM one for her bed so she can put her glasses, book and phone in it and not clutter her side table.

Have a lovely day Mrs P.

We have had a busy few days. Snowed in for some of them. Mr P has managed to get out and DS2 joined him to clear snow outside of DD's house. She was on her own for three days as her husband was working away and then snowed out. Luckily we have lots of relatives and he stayed with one of them near the station.
Mr P saw the snow plough and asked them if they could try to clear our road. They cam down and gritted it and then it snowed again last night!

So, Mr P has been out with a shovel clearing the road whilst DS2 has done a bit of vaccuming for me.

I have only left the house once since last saturday so I have had lots of NSDs but Mr P has been buying supplies as and when we needed them and it has cost us a huge amount more than 4ldi. We have only been buying things like fruit and vegetables :(

The money for the rest of the month went into a pot. It makes it so much more obvious how fast it is being spent. I believe the system will work. It might need a bit of tweaking.............

The cottage continues to be busy and this year we will be able to pay it's bills without resorting to borrowing or using or own money which is really needed at this time of the year :)

I love the bed pocket idea. Can I please pinch your idea? I could do with somewhere to put my specs, inhalers Tec.

I somehow managed to hurt my back yesterday. I can hardly walk and am home alone :( Mr P and DS2 shovelled snow for hours and they are still walking. I tried to do a quick swipe over the kitchen floor with an e mop and managed to pull something again. My neighbour made me a cuppa a few hours ago. And she brought me a heated massage seat to try. :)

But good news is that DS2 has gone out to DD's for the afternoon. He helped with the snow the last two days and it seems to have lifted his spirits a bit but he did get very annoyed when I reminded him that we are still waiting for him to put the Cmas decorations in the loft. He told Mr P not to do it as he would do it. He got the ladders out and with a bit of help from Mr P who is still nursing a shoulder injury he got them put away. I did tell him it is February which made him react.

Now that the decorations are away I can get to the chest freezer to see what we have to eat. It was filled to the gunnels.......or so I thought. But......it had food in the top baskets and below was empty except for bags of chick peas. It did remind me that I need to soak and cook some kidney beans.. And we also need frozen vegetables but we don't need bread or milk :D 20 pints of milk and ten loaves of bread :o

Today we are having roast turkey (from the freezer) mash (left over from yesterday), Yorkshire pudding and some mixed vegetables (last of vegetables from the freezer. Pudding will be frozen banana (if my blender can manage to chop up frozen banana. We had some black bananas so I peeled and froze them. They were very good inside, not a mark on them.

The cats have had dried dog food today, plus some tinned cat food and a tin of herring in tomato sauce (I mixed some wormer in with it). I hope it won't harm them but we haven't any dried cat food left. The coop is too expensive and we should be at 4ldi on Tuesday.

I am going to try to book my free session at a spa for Tuesday to tie in with shopping. The local carers group organised it for me. I get a taster session and use of facilities. Feeling like I really need it.

For me a NSD, no idea what Mr P has spent..........

  • Sorry to hear you have hurt you back Pooh, make sure you take it easy.

Great news about DS2 being out and about though, and the wealth of milk and bread! Xx
