I just can't understand the way that people f*rt about getting on and off planes seemingly not noticing the 188 people behind them. Just bang the bag overhead or under the seat and get the h*ll out of the aisle, how is that difficult?
Hands up all MSEr's who have had the pleasure of sitting with Bob the S---- in the front row of Ryanair aircraft on 90% of their flights without having Priority Boarding. What, so few takers? I am surprised.0 -

I'll put my hand up.
I've never paid for priority boarding on Ryanair - what's the point as the plane doesn't leave until the last person has boarded - and I've often travelled in the front row as it doesn't appear to be the most popular seating.
In fact I've never understood why people travel on the cheapest budget airline and then actually pay extra to sit on an aircraft and wait for those who haven't.
There's no accounting for crass stupidity.0 -

Shhhh, they are subsidising the cost of us that don't pay.;)0 -
Right time to sum up my trip as I wait for my last flight,
Most flights arrived a few mins early one arrive a few mins late. (earlier fog I think). So far I got the front row 5 times, I never pay for priority boarding but I am usually first in the queue. Many people who pay for prioirity are not regular fliers and seem not to even notice the front row
and I'm just behind them - or in front if they're a bit slow across to the plane.:D0 -
I spent a nice weekend in Venice earlier this year - Ryanair flew me for virtually nothing to Treviso and a bus was waiting for a pleasant 45 minute journey to Venice costing around €6.
Not after 8PM, so you would have to get a taxi costing at least 30 euros. I want to fly to Venice in January and the ryanair East Midland Treviso flights get in at 8:10 in January, and with luggage it came to £50, and then I'd have to get a taxi, as I wouldn't get out until at least 8:30. With BA, the flight was £65, but it was in the afternoon and actually took me to where I wanted to go (Venice, not Treviso a different town north of Venice), and a bus is only 3 or 4 euros. And I get 23kg of luggage, compared to a measly 15kg on ryanair. Whilst I appreciate the argument that on a short trip, hand luggage only is ok, I'm going for a month so luggage is important. So once you factor in the 'extras', the time and inconvenience of going to an airport nowhere near the intended destination, the hassle of getting a flight at either 6AM or 9PM, those bargain fares are not such a bargain. Also, if you are going on a skiing holiday, then ryanair charge a whopping £40 each way, whilst BA do not charge extra. I can understand ryanair's reasoning that if you take more luggage, then you should pay more but not how a ski charge is just as expensive (or more) than a regular ticket.
However, in fairness to ryanair as they always use secondary airports abroad which only a few other airlines use I always find that the checkout and security process is much quicker than at Heathrow/Paris CDG.0 -
Not in the front row because I'm never in a hurry, but 90% in the exit row seats. I'm not in the least surprised at the claim though.Avina_Popp wrote: »Hands up all MSEr's who have had the pleasure of sitting with Bob the S---- in the front row of Ryanair aircraft on 90% of their flights without having Priority Boarding. Are you quite sure ?
When I travelled there was a specific bus service from Treviso Airport into Venice which coincided with the arrival of every single flight during the day.
The actual flight numbers were included in the timetable each way.
I'd be very surprised if the bus companies ( and they may have been private ) didn't run a service for that flight when virtually everyone on it would have probably been travelling into Venice anyway - it doesn't make economic sense but then again it is Italy I suppose.0 -
There is one part of Ryanair's marketing that could be better: The management does not seem to realise that a combination of rigidly applied rules and call centres that cost a bomb (practically unusable if calling from a mobile) means I have a certain feeling of dread when booking and later generating the boarding cards for a group of people (a task I get lumbered with).
One single tiny wrong detail and you get the feeling that the whole trip is gong to be a disaster. How many other people feel this?
A lot of anecdotal stories then get spread around of huge extra charges applied at airports as a result if minor mistakes/changes. This really put me off flying altogether, I think this management attitude loses more than it gains.
then you get apparently TRUE stories like this one of August this year:
Ryanair forces musicians to pay £1, 340 for extra seats

How stupid do you have to be not to get a tape measure out and measure the size of your violin case ?
Again, if these imbeciles had followed the clearly-stated T and Cs on Ryanair's website the extra costs wouldn't have arisen.
I never fail to be amazed at the number of stories of supposedly intelligent people who mess up on the Ryanair website - you are given every opportunity to review what you have written before submitting your purchase.
And why shouldn't Ryanair charge a premium 'phone rate to sort out your errors - it's what helps to keep their prices down and ensures the airline is vastly profitable and successful.

"...claims Ryanair had agreed the instruments would be exempt from the hand luggage limit when the tickets were booked a month ago"... there's always a grey area, isn't there?0
