I've had both an induction and elective section.

Induction was horrible BUT section was very traumatic:o Things went wrong for me and obviously that is rare, and most sections are fine, BUT it is major surgery.

I have had a great recovery though and have been going out about and doing most things (section was 4 weeks ago EXACTLY:eek:)

I would never advise anyone to choose a section unless there is no other option. Daisy was breech and I'd had a problematic pregnancy.

I now won't be able to have any more babies as a result of my section (too much damage so any future pregnancy/birth would be dangerous:() so that is something else to keep in mind (but this is rare though)

I've had 2 c-sections and found them to be very positive experiences. I've healed reasonably quickly both times, could have driven after 2 weeks but not really felt the need. When I had DS, DD was 15 months and I picked her up in the hospital 2 days after my section without any real issues. With DD I did need a blood transfusion but I didn't see this as a big deal at the time, after having DS I realise it made me very drowsy until the next day but the midwives were great helping that night. The most painful thing was the drain that was in being removed, honestly if I think about it I can still feel the pain now but I didnt have one with DS and will ask they don't put one in unless absolutely neccessary this time too.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this: Sorry, giving or asking for medical advice is not permitted on this forum as it’s not what this site is about. While discussing medical insurance policies, cheaper ways to see consultants, cashback for alternative health treatments and how to get specific medication cheaper (legally) are all perfectly acceptable we ask you specifically not to discuss what to do in the event of certain medical problems (please see this rule on the Health Board). If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
