I watched my first ever 3D film last night...Jackass 3D and the visual effects were amazing.
However, if you are due to watch this film please note it is not for the faint hearted and you may require a sick bag! :o

I also saw Jackass 3D and wasn't particularly impressed by the 3D tbh. I've seen better but then again I've seen worse.

It was never going to be my cup of tea (or coffee in my case;)) however the two teenagers I took with me, loved it. I think i sat there with a look of shock on my face for most of the evening.

There are going to be some men from the team who might find it difficult to father children in the coming years:eek:

It made me laugh when the announcement was made not to copy the stunts as the people concerned are professionals. What they are professionals of is beyond me :rotfl:

Those who watch the show will love it though, I'm very sure.

£10 says it was Due Date.... since it was terrible! lol

You are probably right but if people don't state the film in their post 'now, we get into the situation of people asking in future posts. We've got ourselves in a muddle before.

It's odd that you didn't like either The Hangover or Due Date as I'm sure that you are more likely to be their target audience more than I am. And yet I adored The Hangover and enjoyed Due Date a lot. It was never going to be another Hangover and I don't think they should promote it as such.

I think it just goes to show how daft audience targetting actually is. No two people are the same even if they are of a similar age and there is no guarentee that two people ust because of their age will both enjoy the same things. Other factors come into it too.

It bugs me when Test screenings only want to show to people of a certain age. It's a form of discrimination when you think of it.

Free previews for everyone, regardless of age, gender and/or location. That's my slogan!:rotfl:

No, Dotty, you didn't miss anything at all.. Crass and unimaginative rubbish. Could sense a few people laughing around me, in a very student-heavy audience, 90% full, but I don't think many people rated it whatsoever. 2 out of 5 is about right, as some of the gags were decent, and being an actor I liked the "crap acting", but even the comedy dog was under-used.

Proof positive that the more people write a comedy - in this case 4 - the less funny it is.

Ah! I did feel sorry for the poor little dog a few times though. Especially in the back of the vehicle!

However lorweld, as I stated in my pm, by constantly deleting posts by one particular person without ever telling them why doesn't solve the matter. Surely a gentle pm is a way to solve the ongoing problem. Calling it 'abuse' is a little OTT and might put the member off from contributing at all and that's no solution either.

We all realise that the bg's have more than one board to monitor but that's the problem in a nutshell. More Board Guides are needed, this forum is huge, far too huge for the small amount of people who voluntarily monitor it.

People like myself and possibly geordie_ben have volunteered our services and have not been taken up on it. Therefore, why should we then do the job of the Board Guide?

I am not attacking you or any of the BGs, I am supporting the fact that you have a huge job and you obviously need more help.

You are missing the point of lorweld's post. It isn't up to other users or BG's to be pm'ing any user to point out where or what they should post. This continual complaining is what will put off new users ever posting at all.

If you have a problem with any user then please use the abuse button and email the Abuse Team and not the BG's. It is not their job to remove posts you personally think are in the wrong place.

Is it now possible to get back to the point of this thread which is to discuss films that you have seen rather than arguing.

Not free and not a film but I went to see John Barrowman last night and it was a fantastic show :D

That scene with Ethan and his dog was too much, you could hear the audience gasp OMG.

About 3 people left within 15 minutes of the start.

Don't you find that when a film is hyped up like Due Date was i.e. calling it funnier than The Hangover in the promo is asking for trouble. Surely the next Hangover will be Hangover 2 currently in production and I bet that even that film won't be as funny. I hope I'm proved wrong though;)

I quite understood lorweld's post. It is you who are missing the point that I and others make. One particular person is continually posting duplicated codes causing problems for other members. Calling it abuse (as I stated in last post) is an OTT reaction which would be guarenteed to put them off posting. I'm very sure that from previous experience, that they are being sent pms from people who angry to find themselves logging on for non code posts or codes that were posted only a short time previously.

And as you quite rightly say, this thread is to discuss films, so why are you posting about a show/concert that wasn't even free? It seems that you don't abide by the rules that you wish others to abide by ;)

However, as you have brought up the subject, I know several people who have been to see his shows and become devotees because of the fabulous way in which he treats his fans. I know they have a special name, but it escapes me for the moment. I'm sure you can fill me in.

Really? Wow! Our screening in Liverpool was almost full, to the point of people being asked to budge up a seat. Very few people left to go to the loo tbh much less leave. Do you think it might not have been a real dog inthat particular scene? Not that I noticed it looking like a toy or anything.

I went to see Burke and Hare recently and staff told me that quite a few people walked out on that.

I've been close to walking out of one or two previews but never have. Of recent films, the A Team didn't impress me one little bit but the audience around me loved it.
