New Years Eve is already on general release. Previews have been and gone.

Saw the 'The Artist' tonight and I really, really enjoyed it. I mostly had a smile on my face and I felt stress free. A few weeks ago I went to a screening and saw the trailer which sold it to me immediately so credits go out to the trailer makers. I knew it would be a black and white silent movie from the trailer. I wanted to clap after it finished.

I went to see this on Monday night at the free preview in Cardiff and at the end a lot of people DID clap :) And deservedly so. What an amazing film. If I'm honest I was unsure a silent film would keep me entertained for an hour and 40mins but I was totally entranced. Brilliant story and unbelievable acting for people to understand what was happening all the way through with no dialogue (apart from occasional words on screen). Fantastic soundtrack.

This is so annoying, as I applied for tickets and was told that they had all been distributed.

Not as annoying as posting inane drivel on the codes only thread...

Shame on those who didn't bother going to see Shame for fear of seeing a man's penis!

Fabulous film with a thought-provoking plotline. Very well acted by both Fassbender and the ever wonderful Carey Mulligan and others.

We had two walkouts in Liverpool but I do wish that if people have specific problems with adult themes and/or other pet hates, that they do some research on a film before grabbing tickets and taking spaces away from those who might well have liked to have seen film but couldn't get the tickets.

Is that where they were from? Usually I sit on back row but I knew there would be walk outs (expected more tbh) and din't want the distraction of them blocking the screen as they scuttled down the steps. :rotfl:

What made me laugh was all the latecomers who missed some of the stronger scenes at the start so if they knew nothing about the film, they would have got a hell of a shock later on! :D

Yes because they just sat next to me:cool:
I think the funniest line was the one from David when he found out Brandon's hard drive got lots of !!!!!!"......creampie..I don't even know what that is":D
The acting was great, but the sex scenes were bit too long and slow that made me fall asleep.

From some comments I have been reading, I think I must have seen a totally different film to some other people lol

I didn't think any part of it dragged, not the singing, the running, the sex. It seemed to be paced just right.
