Seems Sky are beginning to monopolise the preview ticket market of late0
-
I am new to sky but have just booked tickets for their free screening of Harry Potter next week (in Bristol).
I am presuming that these are not guaranteed seats - i.e. they have given out more bookings than seats, so we would need to go early to get tickets.
Has anyone been to a sky screening before and know how this works and how early you would need to collect tickets in order to get in? It tells you to arrive at 6pm, so would we actually need to arrive much earlier and queue?
I am guessing that Harry potter may be pretty popular
Thanks in advance for any advice.0 -
when i have been in the past i usually got there around half 5 never had any problems getting in but i'd get there abit earlier with harry potter i went to transformers 3D from virgin media previews and that was extremely busy and they had a list to check off so took even longer im no longer with sky so cant get harry potter tickets v.dissapointed
lol but hope you enjoy it

There will be a name on the ticket so they could ask to check against this. They've never asked me for ID, so I'd try it. However, can't guarantee that they'll let you in.Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93

Are you a sky movies customer? if so follow the link on the Harry Potter post sign up for rewards and see if there are any left. Tickets are only available to Sky customers. Or maybe ask a friend or family member if they have Sky to help you out with ticketsMany thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A0 -
I am signed up to the free cinema tickets with no discussion forum, but I am on the point of cancelling that subscription, out of sheer frustration!
I know this has been discussed before, but surely any free tickets forum should NOT include offers that require customer subscription, like Sky or Virgin, or Timesplus subscriber only deals....They are effectively not free and not available to everyone.
There are so many, that when you have elected to receive instant email alerts, it becomes very frustrating wading through these, aswell as the chat that persists (despite repeated reminders to keep that to threads like this one.)
I suspect I am not alone in my annoyance! Maybe it's the heat....0 -
No-one is ever going to benefit from every single post whether it's because all the tickets are gone, it's not in their local cinema, it's just chat or they're not a sky/virgin/times subscriber. So if you expect to get tickets every time then you are going to be disappointed! Yes it's been discussed before, but it's just not feasible to have one thread for freefree tickets, one for virgin subscribers, one for sky subscribers, one for timesplus subscribers and whilst we're at it why not add in a London tickets thread, one for Liverpool, one for Plymouth etc etc.
In the past week we've had 6 codes, 2 have been sky, 2 have been London only, 1 has been a code for 2-for-1 and 1 has been open to all. Out of all of them only 2 were good to me but the few minutes at most that I've lost by checking each time and email comes in hasn't made me jealous of those in London. Now chat....lets not even start on that one haha.0 -

I think the other response ignores the position that Virgin/Sky/TimesPlus/etc subscribers get notice direct of screenings. I wonder how many readers of the MSE thread who don't subscribe to Virgin/Sky/TimesPlus/etc are able to obtain tickets for those performances.
A nice round figure, I should think.0
