I personally think if it is a new code it should be on the codes thread, if its just more tickets released/available again then post it on this thread. Most of us know to keep trying codes again without receiving a reminder to tell us.

    totally agree

If someone receives an email from Showff for example, stating that more tickets have been released then I have no problems with that being posted on codes as there are obviously more than one or two tickets available. But these emails are rare and I'm willing to go with the flow.

As far as I'm concerned it should be

    NEW CODES ONLY

(or seriously "CRITICAL" amendments to an existing post)

The reasons for this are ...
    1. Whilst an original code is likely to have come from a newspaper, magazine etc. and only "encountered" by a "select few" of the population (those that buy/subscribe to the code source), a "more tickets reminder" invariably get sent to hundreds if not thousands (possibly ALL) of those that have joined Show/See FilmFirst or TellTen etc.
(Or at least those with a postcode that's "relevant" to any cinema covered by said code)

So MOST of us already know before the reminder gets re-posted here.
Personally I CAN'T remember the last time that a "more tickets reminder" was posted here and that I did not receive my "own copy" direct from SFF etc.

    2. Hundreds (if not thousands) getting the same reminder at the same instant will almost certainly generate DUPLICATES where several people check if it's been posted within the same minute or two, find it hasn't, spend a minute or two creating a post with all the details and hit submit .. then BINGO ... 2 or 3 posts of the same reminder.
Already happens now. Furthermore it also happens HOURS apart because they are not searching/checking correctly. 1st reminder post happens early morning, perhaps a new code or two gets posted in the meantime and then another poster just in from work at 7pm posts their own "email reminder" of the early morning one.

For the case of the first duplication instance some of the "more concerned" and informed of those amongst us would realise the "same post same time" repeat and UNLESS I was the FIRST to post, would DELETE the repeat. However not all of us are so dilligent or so courteous.

    3. Many "more tickets reminder" emails only refer to 2 or 3 cinemas on a code whereas when it was originally released the code may well have had 20 or 25 screening locations on the list.

Posting these are an over-kill given the original email may well have been targeted to the applicable catchment area. Also in posting ONLY a restricted list of screenings with "vacancies" this may deter a free preview aficionado from re-checking for a cinema that was originally listed under the code (see 5.)

    4. Referring to Pooch's comment, and specifically the highlighted bit, I think it is EXCEEDINGLY rare that this is true. MOST of the free preview screenings that I go to (and that is now well over 300, maybe 400) are in venues where capacity is not much more than 120 to 150. Very rare that is is over 200. Only twice have I been to a 400+.
A free preview screening at any given cinema is often available via multiple codes (very rare it is a single code) so given an equal distribution of 200 tickets on 4 codes then there could ONLY have been 50 tickets at the outset. I doubt very much that most of these would not be taken in pairs, so only need 25 ish respondants before exhausted, and any remaining tickets that subsequently make it to a "reminder email" are going to be very small quantities.

    5. As we ("in the know") all know, and we keep repeating again and again for those that don't (I'm sure they will learn one day) ....
TICKETS FOR A FREE PREVIEW SCREENING ARE ONLY ABSOLUTELY NO LONGER AVAILABLE AFTER IT HAS TAKEN PLACE !
KEEP CHECKING PREVIOUSLY "SOLD OUT" CODES AS OFTEN AS YOU CAN - right up to the point that it's too late to leave home and get to the cinema in time to see it :)

Doing this totally negates the need for "more tickets reminder" posts.

Despicable Me.......what can I say, fantastic, hilariously funny, cried with laughter, almost shed a real tear at the end, kids loved every minute of it and the 3D was brilliant. We all loved every minute of it!! :)

We loved it also. First time I have seen so many queuing beforehand for a film, went to Lowry and arrived just gone 6.30pm a 7pm start thinking we were early went through the doors to see what looked like 100s of people queuing. They kept us there for at least 20 minutes, they did put us in the large screen and there were a few random seats spare but I would say about 90% full. Kids and adults seemed to enjoy, lots of laughts and loved the bits at the end when they credits were rolling. Would definitely recommend this one 9/10.

Oh no, what a shame, if you get a chance further down the line do see it, I know its a kids film but it was great.

We had to queue to get in to and I arrived early at 6.20pm and there was already a huge queue, and they kept us waiting a while, but when we got in there was free popcorn on all the seats!!

My youngest normally gets a bit restless towards the end and the glasses are way to big for her and they come off, but she sat in her seat and didn't move, the glasses went on at the start and weren't touched and she giggled and giggled and got so excited at some of the 3D, it was such a pleasure to see her enjoy a film so much.

I have every intention of seeing it, I think it looks fabulous and I'm so happy that people seem to have enjoyed it every much as I expect I will. When my friends have brought their little girl to 3D films, I must admit that I love hearing her giggle. She loved the Cheshire Cat in Alice in Wonderland.:)
