A true shame, espcially considering that so many of his more recent roles were so poor.

In other news, thought 'Rare Export: A Christmas Tale' was one of the best films I have EVER seen :j
  • Asking for tickets is against the rules of the forum....

Asking for tickets is not against the rules of MSE.

It is the process of swapping tickets that include personal details that is against MSE rules.

    Martin's stipulation:

'PERSONAL DETAILS AND THE OFFERING OF ITEMS FOR SALE/TRADE/EXCHANGE/SWAP/GIFTS

Please refrain from requesting the exchange of personal details either on the forum, via PM or email; particularly for the purposes of selling/trading/exchanging/swapping or giving as gifts. This includes posting links to your ebay auctions, or other forms of advertising.

If someone appears to be selling items on the board it may be deleted by the board guides/forum team. The aim is to protect site users as however honourable the intention, your safety is paramount'.

As a result of Martin's stipulation above, Lorweld said:

'Please note that swapping of tickets should not be posted as it is against the site rules to exchange personal details. See here.

If you obtained your tickets via seefilmfirst, you should email them so they can re-allocate your tickets'.

You are assuming that ex-homelessdude will initiate such a personal detail swapping process. Perhaps ex-homelessdude just meant to ask if anyone has spare tickets that they might be returning, and they could PM him just before they return the tickets in order that ex-homelessdude might get a chance to apply for these returned tickets.

Perhaps there are differing interpretations on his/her post, as follows:
hi has anyone spare pair of tickets to tron legacy screening on the 7th in west end london please?

  • Just canceled 2 tickets to see The Next Three Days at Vue West End tomorrow. It's the Sky link :)
  • Just had to share this with you:

Hi guys just a reminder requesting of or swapping of tickets is not allowed on Mse, please refrain from doing so. Also the forum manager has already posted in this thread asking that people stop requesting and sending back door links for the sky website. Thanks :)

    Lorweld,

Requesting/swapping someone else's tickets with their personal details on it or back door Sky links is quite obviously against MSE rules.

However, you thanked ex-homelessdude's post yesterday when he/she asked if anyone had any spare tickets to let him/her know.

Surely it is okay for people to ask if someone is sitting on tickets that they might return, and to PM them when they decide to return the tickets so the other poster could potentially (with no guarantee) pick them up on their return.

As long as people make sure their intention is clear to make such a request, or possibly miss out on picking up returned tickets?

Please could you clarify the situation?

    Hi Tibbs

Oops I didn't mean to click thanks to ex-homelessdude's post yesterday, I wasn't aware that I did. I'm using mobile Internet on my iPhone so blame my fat fingers :D

To clarify it'd ok to post here saying that you are returning tickets to seefilmfirst etc so people are made aware that tickets may be available again. What's not allowed is people sending on tickets they have through email as that would breach the exchanging personal details rule ie email addresses.

I hope that this clarifies what I was trying to say. :) any other questions feel free to ask :)

ETA: sometimes it's very hard to determine if a user is requesting tickets be sent to them rather than asking has anybody returned tickets.

I dont think it answers the question really...

What we need to know is, is it ok to ask on here if anyone has spare tickets?

i always thought it wasnt, the reason being a board guide posted something a while ago stating it was against the rules.
