Hi, nothing useful to add but just wanted to say that however bad you feel now you will definately get this sorted and have learned loads from it. You have plenty good times to come! Sounds like you are being proactive and also sounds like you are a lot better off without this man who has taken the cowardly way out. Once you get a bit of time off work i'm sure the solutions to the problem will come and you will find yourself in a stable position, dont let him bully you into paying anything you dont owe.0

thanks poodlegal.. i spent 5 years paying his debts, and getting into debt myself to compensate for that.. i will never ever ever pay a penny for him again.. he left me in a hole financially when he left me, knowing that i had no way of clearing my debts off, whilst he sits there with a large income and the ability to pay his debts off.. he was very wrong in his assumptions, because i have a very helpful family, andthe support of all you wonderful people on here.. so really i won!0

Still planning the move to Oz? Have you got the divorce sorted out?0 -
Can't give any better advice than already given. Lots of love and hugs, be strong and you will get through it!

hi findingmyownway.. i am doing ok.. moving to oz in 34 days.. woohoo.. i cant wait. divorce was getting sorted but now its on hold due to money.. i tried to get a part fee remission from the court but they wouldnt give me one cos my income is too high! i wish it was.. it only because i pay cash for my rent and as the payments are not shown on my bank statement, they wouldnt accept that as a genuine outgoing.. so i will just have to wait until i have the money.. ex is going to pay half, but he is a bit short this month too, and im not so horrible that i would leave him with nothing. xx0

Any ideas what I can do? They are getting on my nerves now0 -
hi and like wow.
So glad you came out the end of a horrible time so well
ref the shopacheck loans, what about asking your bank for copies of statements? Or could you get them via online banking?
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Don't know if it's possible or not but is there anyway they could check their phone records? All calls are usually recorded and I wonder if the conversation where they acknowledge they made an error and would rectify it would be enough for them to sort it out? Just an idea but companies usually have to keep the recordings for a good few years as a statutory requirement. Worth a go anyway!
Good for you starting your new life in Oz. I hope you'll still pop by and see us all and let us know how you're doing xSteffieLou

Did you pay the money to the DCA or shopacheck? You should send whoever you paid and spoke to on the phone a SAR - there's a statutory £10 charge for this.
If you search around the forum there's a template letter somewhere. It will get you a copy of all information they have on you including phonecalls and correspondence so you may be able to get proof of payment from that.
However, and I'm sure someone else will know better than me - is it not their job to prove you owe them and not yours to prove you've paid?Do you not know that a man is not dead while his name is still spoken?
