Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but have you thought about making a new will? It's just that at the moment, if you don't have one, everythig goes to your husband...
You can get packs from WHSmiths for about a tenner that will do for a basic one to ensure that he can't benefit if the worst happens.
And also to add what a scum monkey! You are coping so well...
I don't have a will, and have nothing to leave anyone but debt. My death in service benefit would go to my dad as he is named on the forms.
All of the numbers I called have been landline numbers, but I hammered my minutes, so that's why my bill is high.0 -
I need time off to go to an appointment at the hospital. It's very important that I go, but do I need to tell my manager what it is for? xx0

No you don't have to tell them what for. Just say its a hospital appointment and leave it at that. They can't deny you the time off.0

Hi Guys..
I have told my manager that i need this time off for a hospital appointment, and she has said that the only way i can do this is if i get someone else to give up their holidays for me on that day.
This is fine and i have found someone that will do this for me, so i emailed her and told her that situation, and that can she let me know asap if its ok. this was yesterday morning and i have asked her 6 times and she has still not sorted it.
This is so so so important that there are no words to describe what will happen if i cant get to this appointment.
My mam has got a note off the doctor for me stating that it is very important that i attend this appointment, and that it cannot be changed (and belive me we have tried every hospital in the north east and cant get another appointment)
The main problem is that it is my last day in work tomorrow, and then im off for 3 days, and the day off i need is the day i would be due to come back for my next shift, so if she doesnt tell me by tomorrow, im screwed, as there is no way of being able to find out after tomorrow
Can anyone suggest anything i can do? i thought about going over her head with this to her manager, but i dont want to cause any mores stress for myself.. also i may have to then explain why it is so important, and i really dont want to do that.

Hi
I just wanted to offer my support. My husband did a very similar thing to me 10 years ago, but I had children. It is horrible and devastating at first but I promise it does get better in time.
Be kind to yourself and don't be afraid to ask others for support, they will want to help

Hi there,
Re your post above - I'll just pick up on the night shift bit and hope you can check your email when you get in to work!
Can you just call into your managers office tomorrow? or give her a ring? You have sorted out the time for the hospital appointment as she suggested so everything in place. And you may well find your manager will have emailed you back before you got to work.
In the unlikely event you are getting to lunchtime and haven't had the contact with your manager I think it's fine to give her manager a ring - it might be that your manager is off sick, or some other unexpected reason for not being at work.
Remember - you do not have to explain why you have a hospital appointment - this is employment law. If you are asked simply say it is urgent and personal. Do not give another thought to this, you have rights - and I'm sure your managers will know and respect this.
Just been reading all your thread - well done for getting on with sorting things out in your difficult situation, and pleased all's well again with your mum and dad. Brilliant. :T
Good luck with your hospital appointment. And all the very best, you are well on the way to a much better and brighter future.:)0 -
Hiya,
I've not had chance to read through this whole thread but just want to send you hugs and support. You are in the right place.

Hi guys, sorry I havent posted for a while, all of this stress has made me ill and ended up with me being in hospital. I'm getting better now though, so that's good. Moving tomorrow, and I have had lots and lots of support from my family.
Everything is looking like it's going to get better, I will be alot more financially stable so I will be able to get some driving lessons and a car when I pass my test, which in hoping will be soon.
