my advice..although too late now would be not to buy from DFS they attract people in with the pay nothing for a year and 0% intrest offer, but the stuff they sell is really poor quality and cheaply made0

I would suggest that you demand they take it back. I used to work for DFS and I can tell you that their customer service is SHOCKING.
They will insist that someone repair it and do everything they possibly can not to take it back but I assure you you will have repeated problems with your item and ve seen them deliberately drag out fault complaints until the warranty is up and they don't have to do anything.
Never purchase anything from them again!0 -
reject it not fit for purpose get a full refund, if you let them repair it once you will never get your money back and trust me after its fixed it will happen again.
Please read my posts on dfs i would never buy a sofa from them again i rejected the sofa and got my money back.
They go through a process of sending people out then a manager etc etc its not worth the hassle.
hope this helps0 -

ok, is it best for me to go in store and tell them i reject it and to take it back? ill go down there today and have it out with them , theres also 2 small scuffs on the leather, is there a time limit on rejecting goods?
whats the best way to tell them wrighting?0 -
ok so i went instore to them and spoke to the store manager, when i was talking to him he said im going to call the police, im so peed off i was there for about 30 mins trying to explain im rejecting the sofa, he said that somebodys got to have a look first then you can do what you want, peed off aint the word
ill let them come out tuesday and have a look and if it aint up to my standards ill give trading standards a ring0 -
what you have to do is let a member of staff come see it first then you tell them your rejecting the sofa and want a full refund you stand your ground but not in an angry way just nod and be pleasant and everytime they say we can fix it just say im rejecting the sofa and want a full refund, he will then tell you he cant make that decision and a manager will call you and come out you tell him the same thing they do have a script they stick to so all the similar things that were said to me will be said to you but stick to your one liner rejecting sofa etc etc it will take about 4 weeks in all before they come to uplift and agree to a refund just tell them you will not use the sofa and if you have a spare room put it in there, write a letter to the company (the branch you bought it from) stating that the sofa is not fit for purpose write down all the faults check the sofa very closely there will be more faults ie leather faded stretched discoloured if its analine leather it might have grey small patches over it.
Put all this in your letter and wait for the phone call basically its a waiting game but you will win if you stay calm.0 -

ok cheers, i do like the sofa just just the creaking i cant bedoing with it only had it 24 hours and it started to do it, ive wrote the letter ready to send off to them.
tbh tho if i move it in another room they might say ive made the scuffs0 -
It would be a right pain in the 'arris for me to look after somebody else's suite without sitting on it for a month.0

im paying over the 4 years so if i tell them i reject the sofa cant i just cancel the Direct debits?0
-
take pictures of the sofa at every angle so they cant say you scuffed it, and no you cant cancel the finance its with a seperate company and then you would be in breach of contract you can call them and explain the situation to them it kinda gives them a heads up on it.
The fact it creaks suggests to me that the wood is breaking or broken already, mine also creaked when you leaned on the arm of the sofa, dont accept anything but a rejection and them to cancel the finance, im not sure how to cancel finance if its them that has to do it or if you can but id certainly call the finance company and let them know.
let us know how you get on if you check my posts you will see all their excuses and then you will be ready with an answer but do keep calm they dont play ball with you if you get cheeky i know its hard but patience is a virtue in this case.0
