I am also new to this and only invested in a diecutter as i know I will get lots of use out of it as I am on the PTA at school and my girls love craft.
Initially I went to the range and bought a couple of punches to do the elizabeth shaw mints etc but picked up onesx that are slightly bigger than the ones I know others use. I also went to Hobbycraft to try and find some punches but they didn't have an scalloped circle punches when I went to the closest branch to me. I did buy some of the nestabilities dies which I use with the diecutter as toppers.
You may be able to use scissors to cut the shape out. the diecutters obviously give a much cleaner/ crisper finish than scissors. I think some people use craft knives and cutting mats.
I am happy to send you a template if you want to pm me.
Thanks

I only make a few cards so can't justify huge cost, how have you got on with it ?

Hya all, been awol for a bit.
Had an op on Tuesday (in and out same day), but it has fairly knocked me for six...taking longer to recover than I thought it would. Still, managed to knit a couple more scarves, as well as sew and stuff a couple of xmas trees.
An early birthday pressie arrived today: a fancy computerised sewing machine!!! :j It only cost £35 plus loads of Mr T vouchers (and their £20 for £10 voucher exchange)...really happy, planning lots of projects with it alrady!! Only read the manual today, not up to using it yet...perhaps tomorrow, though going out for a family lunch...Monday then!
Decided to cancel my table at the outdoor fair next Friday, but still going ahead with the indoor one on Sunday. Also booked another for the 11th Dec, and potentially have another on the 15th...just have to make sure I have enough stuff now!
This new sewing machine will mean I can use it, rather than hand-sew some things...so should get much more made!! At least that is the plan!!
Right off to bed, need more sleep.
Have a great Sunday everyone xx

hello all
my dds went out last night to an event and ended up coming home with the HUGE catering tub on Cadburys hot choc powder. They're never going to drink it all before the best before date, so I think I might be branching out into snowman soup to go with everything else! I did some with muds last year, but found them very slow to sell (we ended up giving them away as teachers / guide leaders presents). I'm hoping cello cones sell better, just offto read back and find out where you've been getting the cones from
How is everyone else's weekend going? any sales?0 -
