ohhhh Hobbycraft is really expensive hun. I tend to hunt around we have the range which is good and a boundary Mill and a Dunelm. you may be able to order off some of those online. My wooden blanks come from mainly ebay and www.woodencraftshapes.co.uk hope that helps. If you have a poundland or home bargains anywhere near you can sometimes pick ribbon and buttons up there too x x
Sadly none of those shops in my local town apart from Poundland BUT it's really small so doesn't tend to have loads of choice. All the others are a good 20 min drive away so think I will have to resign myself to eBay and postage costs as the cost in petrol would negate any savings.
Thanks for the link thoughwill have a nose when I get chance
Thanks spicy prawn have saved link tooI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi Everyone,
What price bracket do you find brings more custom? My prices range from £3 -£25
My first fair I made about £25 on top of my table money, second one I barely made my table money, Took exactly the same items :S This was with same company in different locations, and they are more upmarket type sales. I got disheartened by the second one, and have done quiet well plodding on with internet sales.
However, I have signed up for three more, one with the organiser of the original two, one at the local museum (and evening one) and one at a leisure centre. I think I have to change my tactics and try making smaller items too, so I have been making keyring from scrap fabric left over from larger projects, Jumping on the bunting bandwagon, and as it is Christmas, doing Christmas decorations too.
Anyone else have any suggestions? The items on my stall started off as handbags, but I have been moving away from them as they are the higher priced items, and don't sell just yet, I have been doing printed reusable bags, which can be personalised, bunting, purses, make-up bags/wash bags, as well as appliqu!ing blankets, I also have a patchwork one to take with me too. Then I've been knitting and crochet too so been doing hats, scarves and gaiters, and fingerless gloves And as I said the Christmas decorations.
All in all I think prices will start at about £1.50 and go up to £35 ( for the patchwork), with many of the items being at £5-10.
Does this sound about right? The sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!0 -
Thought I would show off a few of my makes, I'm unable to post them / details on my blog at the moment because I'm sending them off as part of an advent swap I'm taking part in so I thought I would show them off here for the moment. As you will notice I have pinched a few ideas from FlyingPig whose blog I highly recommend that you follow!

Those are lovely Abatha
I especially like the Christmas Countdown......perhaps you might consider putting the number s in reverse order, though - so that you could down from the top and it shows the days remaining 'til Christmas?
Here are two pics of an Advent calendar I've just finished making for an adult friend of mine - I hope she likes it

Hi Everyone,
This is my first ever post, so i'll apologise now!! i have never done any sort of crafting, and i would love to try, i would like to start with makeing some of the little bags of sweets like the poop etc. please would someone tell me were i would buy the little plastic bags, and i'm guessing that the labels are just card cut nicely and decorated, or can you purchase them ready cut and just decorate them yourself ? any little bit of advice would be very greatfully recieved, also can i say your all so clever xx:A0 -
Hi All
This is my first post, and i am also new to crafting, i would love to have a go at the sweety treats, ie the poop, they look lovely, your very clever, please could you tell me were i can get the little plastic bags from, and also how do you seal the top's...... i did say i was new to this.:j0 -
I use the presentation bags from Lakeland around £3 for 50 or something like that, I make my own toppers and seal with tape - probably not the best thing but I don't have a gadget (FlyingPig does) which seals the bag properly
PixieDust - yes I spotted the error after I printed it out!! Figured I would just have to work backwards :P0 -
I've bought some self seal bags form The Works. They were about a pound for a pack. Can't remember how many were in a pack sorry!:rudolf: :xmassmile0

noneilish - I have bought an epicsix diecutter from the range but this cost £29.99. I know other people highly rate the Bigshot and other machines such as cuttlebug. I am also new to this and only invested in a diecutter as i know I will get lots of use out of it as I am on the PTA at school and my girls love craft.
Initially I went to the range and bought a couple of punches to do the elizabeth shaw mints etc but picked up onesx that are slightly bigger than the ones I know others use. I also went to Hobbycraft to try and find some punches but they didn't have an scalloped circle punches when I went to the closest branch to me. I did buy some of the nestabilities dies which I use with the diecutter as toppers.
You may be able to use scissors to cut the shape out. the diecutters obviously give a much cleaner/ crisper finish than scissors. I think some people use craft knives and cutting mats.
I am happy to send you a template if you want to pm me.
Thanks
