I read a few pages back that if you remove the packaging for an item you must write the ingredients on your own packaging. How far is this true. For example, will writing 'Elizabeth Shaw Mints' on the packaging be sufficient? For things like the ES mints it's not a huge problem, but I was wondering what you're supposed to do when it comes to the likes of snowman soups? Surely people dont copy the ingredients for the hot chocolate, marshmellows and chocolate chips on their packaging??? Is it more of an issue for allergy information i.e if I were to write may contain traces nuts, would that be enough where original packaging says the same?
I'm hoping to start selling things soon and so far I've only designed one or two toppers, but I dont want to do too much until I know what detail I'm expected to go into!! It seems such a shame to ruin the lovely design of things with miles of ingredient details
    HELP! :o)
    xx

I have! This year I am doing about four fairs at local schools and I thought that it is more about covering my back. I have printed mini labels with the ingredients taken from the packets I have used to fill my sweetie jars. Where I re-packaged the marshamllows for snowman soup, I printed the ingredients and stuck a label to the sealed pack I created. It also has the best before dates.

I think in terms of re-packaging food it's only fair to include the ingredients/best before. There are so many people nowadays with various intolerances, I would hate to think they would reject my products because they weren't sure what was in it and if they were intolerant to certain things. At least they can see exactly what's in them.

I got sheets of labels A4 page (65 labels per sheet) off ebay and typed them up in Word & printed from the PC. Really didn't take long as once you have typed the ingredients, it's a cut and paste across the rest of the sheet.

I have a circle punch but I find it hard to space out the tags in the right place to use the punch. I end up placing the picture or words 4 to a page and then use the punch. Im sure someone else will have a better idea for you
