I never travel without a water puifier. This is about the best small one you can get and will treat approx 60 litres

There's nothing worse than being "out in the sticks" without clean water.0 -

Don't get me wrong, Immodiums fine for curing the "symptons" and a godsend particulary whilst traveling. However one of the best medications is "Ciprofloxacin" and maybe worthwhile asking your Dr for a perscription. Alternatively if you're starting your journey from Bangkok, pop into Boots (yes Boots!) and you can buy them over the counter. Malaria tablets are also about the fifth the price you'd pay here. I always take Doxycycline.0 -
couldnt you get a script for one and take the injection with you and get a doc to do it out there at the end of the 3mthsIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0

thanks, im not sure if they would let me do that, but its worth asking i suspose.
im off to the docs tonight to get my malaria tablets. i think they are going to be Doxycycline, but i have heard they make you react funny in the heat?? and they are gonna be 18p per tablet.

If I went there again I wouldnt bother with injections. We were the only ones out of a group of about 30 who had had them. We were also the only ones taking malaria tablets.
Those countries are civilised and clean in most areas. As long as you don't drink the water, regularly wash your hands and be cleanliness aware you will be OK.
