I never travel without a water puifier. This is about the best small one you can get and will treat approx 60 litres

There's nothing worse than being "out in the sticks" without clean water.

    imodium!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, Immodiums fine for curing the "symptons" and a godsend particulary whilst traveling. However one of the best medications is "Ciprofloxacin" and maybe worthwhile asking your Dr for a perscription. Alternatively if you're starting your journey from Bangkok, pop into Boots (yes Boots!) and you can buy them over the counter. Malaria tablets are also about the fifth the price you'd pay here. I always take Doxycycline.

They were free when I had them but my boyfriend had them at the same time at a different doctors surgery and he had to pay £170 for them.

Having said that when we got there we were the only ones in the whole group who had had any vaccinations.

If I went there again I wouldnt bother with injections. We were the only ones out of a group of about 30 who had had them. We were also the only ones taking malaria tablets.

Those countries are civilised and clean in most areas. As long as you don't drink the water, regularly wash your hands and be cleanliness aware you will be OK.

What kind of accommodation are you staying in?

I guess they have advised that because she is travelling from one country to another. They advise more if your doing that than if you are just staying in one country.

I hope she doesn't have to pay for them.
