Feeling really deflated :-(
Just went out to collect my books, my territory is a little walk away so it took me an hour to get there, collect them and get back (I can't drive). I'm knackered and feeling really disheartened :-(
I only got 11 books out of 14 I'd dropped off back.
A man answered one of the doors and said someone had already been to collect it the night before (well he wasn't 100%, he said he was sure his wife had been speaking to the Avon lady at the door last night) :-S Not quite sure what to do about that - maybe they already have a rep? I don't want to try again tomorrow and look stupid cos he's already told me it's been collected!
The other two just didn't answer although I saw one of the women coming out when I was further down the street and she put her head down and scurried off. I put slips through the doors saying I'd try again tomorrow but I'm not holding out any hope. I was hoping to have an Avon free day tomorrow as I have hospital/consultant appointments and won't be home most of the day! I find out tomorrow if I'm being induced to delivery my baby early as she isn't growing very well so that's on my mind all day too. Oh well, I'll just have to get up early and give it a shot and hopefully I get the books back.
Some people also just threw the bags out the front door and a couple were in a puddle so had obviously been left out a couple of days as it hasn't been raining today. I have a really sore foot as I picked one up and it had sheets of ice on it that dropped and hit me!
I got one order for £18.00 - yay! It was for the men's EDT spray on page 22 - item no 14449. She also put down free watch from page 21 (item no 18762) which is fine but I take it she also gets the free set 69187 from page 22? If so, that'll be a nice surprise for her. I also offered a free gift (Avon Care handcream) with offers over £15.00 so I'll stick that in too and hopefully she'll order again soon :-)
I now have £65.00 worth of orders, one to come in from my MIL and a couple of friends who might have a small order but I'm not convinced I'll get the book back as I keep asking for it and they've "forgotten" or not "had time to write their orders". I have until Friday so going to to take more books out today (I only have 16 left now) so hoping if I get one more order plus my MIL then I'll make my MOV. I won't even had made anything as I'll have to pay my £7.50 plus brochures and bags. Blehhh.
My Mum and sister made up most of my orders and they've told me they won't be ordering from the next book as they are too close together!!! I sent a message to all my Facebook friends too and nobody wanted a book either (except the ones I'm still chasing for it back lol).
I put so much work into this, I've literally spent all day every day prepping books and researching stuff and now I'm exhausted and hormonal and feel like I just wasted a week of my life concentrating solely on Avon. Arghhhh.
*deep breaths*
Onto the housework, prepping more books, and getting them out again!

Got my first delivery today, and I'm missing something!!
It's showing on the invoice but not in any of the boxes, do I do a return - even though I haven't got it?0 -
Hi Moneysaver599
I'm new to all this myself, there's an awful lot for my poor blonde brain to process. Thank goodness for the girls here who are so very helpful.
I think building up a territory, like all sales projects takes time and legwork and we will inevitably come across some strange and colourful characters along the way.
Above all else, please do look after yourself, make you and baby the priority and make Avon less of one while you have so much on your mind - you are bound to be feeling edgy. Let us know how you get on at the hossie and I'll be thinking about you. Avon will still be here
Take care love and good luck.

MONEYSAVER - Don't let it get you down - at least you got an order!! I totally understand about the brochures been to close together and am worried that because I got orders 1st time round no-one will be interested this time.0

Go into replacements on the website, find the item on the invoice, and request a replacement of the same item (reason code to be charged but missing from box). As you go through, one of the options at the bottom will say "request immediate replacement", click on that and, provided it is still in stock, it'll be sent out to arrive with you within 5-7 working days.0 -

Thanks, what happens if I'm not in when it's delivered, will they just post it through letterbox?0 -

Depends on how big the parcel is (and what your postman's like. If you're not in and they can't get it through the letterbox then they'll leave a card and take it back to the depot for you to pick up.
I've had parcels with 3 bits of make up in which have been taken back to the post office depot, but this time my parcel had 2 body control vests and the postie managed to get it through the letterbox (using brute force I should imagine - but they were squashy so no probs!!).0 -
Thanks, didn't realise they'd come with through royal mail, my postie's great he hides stuff in the garden for me only thing is he doesn't bother leaving me a note telling me what he's done!0

Ah, don't worry, I think we all feel like that sometimes! I think you did well to get 11 books back and let's hope you get the others back too, but I have come to expect not to get all of my books back. If someone doesn't give me a book back, after knocking on their door and leaving a calling card, then going back the next day, I cross them off my list. My SL has told me to use the older book to deliver to them, but I still have quite a bit of new territory to canvass and I'm using them for that at the moment.
I didn't get any orders at all from my first book drop - and that was from about 35 books! It was so deflating! But gradually the orders came in. I'm on my third campaign and have 18 local customers now. This campaign is looking rubbish so far though! I haven't had one order so far! I just went to pick up 27 books - and again, no orders! They are all houses that haven't ordered before though, so I think I expect too much! I'm determined to get some of them to order next campaign - might have to do a special offer! Even my mum hasn't ordered this campaign and yes, the campaigns do feel a little close together sometimes.
As Kitten Claws said, please look after yourself. Your priority is you and the baby so I wouldn't go worrying too much about Avon at the mo. I'm sure it will all come together for you eventually, when you have the time and energy to put into it.0 -

The only stuff which won't come via royal mail is really heavy stuff or aerosols0
