the outspoken moneymaker in ht18 is for sale in campaign 18, fergie perfume and get the body lotion and spray free xxx
  • Thank you pcpostie, I think the cold has turned my brain mushy I saw the small print in the HT18 and still didnt figure it out (havent got my camp 18 brochures yet, only just submitting C16). I was going to order 3 but I might double that as I think its going to be popular with Christmas coming up, I have an order for it from my aunts friend in Kent (she doesnt have a rep) and I live in Norfolk!!!
  • OMG my Avon delivery arrived today and there's Avon boxes and catalogues everywhere. mum is coming tommorrow and always moans how untidy my house is with all the Avon stuff everywhere...:o (she's also one of my best customers!:)) anyway.. the reason I am posting is to ask a question...
I ordered the Anew skincare set from a couple of HT's ago, as a nice pressie for myself and I'm allergic to the eyecream, :( (makes my eyes puffy and water) everything else is fine, can I return this one item and exchange it for something else, even though it's part of a set, or will Avon ask me to return the whole set? (which I am basically happy with, apart from the eyecream) any advice will be greatfully received!
  • Horrary have finally printed off some newletters to give to my customers! (thanks to a friend who let me borrow hers as my ink ran out!) but now I'm thinking of doing little leaflets/notes to say thanks for order and it will be delievered on and it will be £x. but not really sure on how to word it, or is how I wrote it ok? I'm normally good at this kinda thing but at this time of night my brain doesnt function very well! and I've been sorting out my Avon most of the day! thanks in advance!

someone on here mentioned about the sale inset/brochure, Im just wondering if everyone else got them, as i seem to have not been given any :( if that is the case I shall be chasing the person who signed me up for them, as I only got the brochures!!

what campaign are you signed up in?

Some ASM/SL don't give the sale brochures to their sign ups.
  • I was signed up in C16 and am currently on C17, so i'm guessing I wont get any then? it doesnt matter so much just wondered as got the christmas ones.

for C16, you should have been given the Christmas Gift Guide and for C17, the sale booklets.

You can ask whoever signed you up, but they may not give them to you.

    Hello

Im slightly confused (which really doesnt take a lot), there is a moneymaker in HT 18 for Outspoken it has the eau de parfum spray then the body spray and body lotion and says just £9 when you order 3 or more, do you get all three for £9 or is it just the parfum, also in camp 17 they have the free watch with fragrances £12 or over, so Im not quite sure what I would do if a customer ordered the outspoken which I got from HT18 with regards to the watch. I did email Avon to ask them but the answer didnt make sense. Any help would be very appreciated.

If you bought the moneymaker with the free products, you can either sell them directly to your customers, ie talk to them face to face, and say I am offering this with the free products at x amount, so then the watch offer does not apply, or you can wait until the C18 brochure and then wait and see if any of your customers buy it.

The point of moneymakers is to try and sell the products before they hit the brochure.

I just put their copy of the invoice, with the next book, if I have it, and say "I will be delivering on x date between x and x time. Your invoice is for X amount. Please let me know if this is not suitable."

Thanks everyone. My day is getting worse - I had bought a huge bag of samples off a friend who used to do Avon for a fiver (funnily enough she did the same territory as me and said she never made any money off it but I didn't listen). I've just sorted through them all and 95% of the products were discontinued. I now have 3 bags of perfume, aftershaves and lipsticks that I can't use and a handful of ones that might come in handy one day.. The lipsticks will probably go in the bin (don't know anyone who wears it - maybe my Mum, will ask) and me and OH will keep the fragrances and see if there's anything we like. What a waste!!

So that's £5.00 on the samples, £4.20 on all the leaflets I printed to get me started + £7.50 to Avon start up and £3.00 on starter bags etc. = £19.70

I only have 4 days left and just putting my books out and expect approx £80.00 orders (- 20% = £64.00 cost to me)

£64 + £19.70 = £83.70 so I've lost money and I haven't even included brochures for C1 in that. I won't have friends and family orders next campaign (which has been the bulk of it) either so it's going to be worse!! I'll give it my best shot since the books are free anyway and I still have 3 streets I didn't manage to cover but if it doesn't work I'm not going to bother any longer as I've put a huge amount of work in everyday - I've literally been doing it full-time as I'm on maternity leave.

don't throw anything in the bin. just use the discontinued items as free gifts (incentives). that is all people do with Clearance - those items won't be able to be ordered again because they are being phased out. but customers still love a freebie. you can put a few items in the bag and let your qualifying customers choose which free gift they want. if the samples are small then you can just offer a grab bag of a few samples. people love things like that. there is a lady i know who goes nuts for samples no matter what they are. people use them when traveling on holiday or when they go out to a party, to keep in small handbags. this particular lady is someone i see often, so i was able to tell her that i have to pay for samples and so i may not always have them. she understands that. but whenever she places an order with me, i order her 2 samples of her choice. she loves it. the lipstick ones last quite a while, at least a week for her.

did you know that most small businesses and entrepreneurs lose money when they start up? that's because initial costs are higher than profits for most businesses -- because you don't have a solid customer base yet. as time goes on (especially if you are able to branch out of your territory and get some regular customers elsewhere) then you will start to see an improvement.
