you can only backorder demo items from a previous HT. If you try to order clearance, they are either at a higher price or not in stock.

To backorder from C16, go to your account, go to place a regular order, when the form comes up on the screen to input your order codes, where it says 17, click on the drop down arrow next to it, and you can change it to 16. This allows you to backorder from 16.

thank you so much. it is mostly demos that i was wanting. shame about the clearance, but that does make sense.. it wouldn't be clearance if it kept being available campaign after campaign :( but glad i can get the demo's!! :T

if you don't know how to use Excel you can just use ledger paper available at WH Smith, or just notebook paper with some lines drawn on :) Have a look at your bank statements and use that as a template. One column for money in, one for money out. Credit/debit. You don't really need to get incredibly detailed, like writing down cost for each item, on that sheet. that is just your overall cost sheet, showing whether you are gaining or losing money.

if you want to track expenditures for a specific thing, like supplies, demos, etc., you can make a different sheet for that. You can also google "free small business accounting software" to see if anything that pops up is suitable for you.

How do we do returns? Do they go through the courier or by post?

Also can we return demo products?

It is cheaper to do it via the courier! Just box up anything you want to return, unless, it is just one item, then put in an envelope. And when the courier comes to do your next delivery, give the box/envelope to them.

Yes you can return demo products.

    Hi all

Post 4, page 1 has information on hosting Avon parties, including the left to right game.

The Avon Parties in Blue is a link to lucyclare's blog on Avon parties. Hopefully this link will keep updating itself everytime Lucy updates about her parties.

Also do we have to return the magic cashmere foundation? I ordered one for myself and not tried it yet.

    Magix Cashmere Foundation

We have experienced some difficulties with the formulation of this product which we are working to resolve. Until further notice we are unable to supply this product. We will replace any Cashmere Foundation ordered by your customer(s) with an equivalent shade of Calming Effects Illuminating foundation which is of equal value. It is important to note that the Calming Effects Iluminating foundation does not contain any SPF. Avon’s usual returns policy applies.

If you already have it, you may find it is one of the faulty ones, and will separate in container, you can return for credit or the calming effects one.

If it is fine, you just keep it.

    Thanks guys

I've decided to change it a bit.

I'm doing the prize draw in C18 with all orders over £7.50. Figured that hopefully a good few people will put in a cheeky order for £7.50 for the chance to win. Maybe it'll introduce them to Avon and they'll keep ordering. I'll make up my own little gift thingy of 5 or 6 products at 75p or something. Should I up the minimum order to £10.00?

C1 I'm offering 10% off C2 and trying to convince people to order up last minute stocking fillers before Christmas.

C2 nothing as it's the New Year sale anyway.

How much are brochures going to cost me if I want 40 for C1? I'm really struggling with just 20 as friends and family take about 5 or 6 and only leave me with a few for houses? Can I order some extra for C18 or should I just wait and see?

    Thanks, this is so helpful!!

    40 C1 brochures will cost you £7.26

Why don't you ask your ASM/SL, whoever signed you up, if they have extra brochures for C18? They may have some spare, and they will benefit if you get HOV orders and above.

For you to order additional books - 20 for C18, it will cost you £5.34.

I would up your minimum order to £10 to qualify for the prize draw.

When I first started out, I told my SL I was offering a 10% discount on orders and she said this cuts into my discount, as in effect I am giving away what I earn. She suggested just the free gift.

Upto you, although I know others on here have offered a percentage discount before.

I've offered a % discount before when recanvassing for new customers. For existing customers last year in about book 17 we did 'spend £5 or more get a 10% discount voucher that could be used from brochures 18-2. Meant to quality they had to spend £5,'which a lot of our customers spend below, then in theory having a 10% would mean that they'd spend more when they used it - some did but some didn't. So were sticking to a free gift from now I think rather than a discount, I'll only offer a discount on a certain item - like the lotus shield when it was launched we did at £4 rather than £5, and the mega impact lipsticks when they were launched start of the year we did at about £3.20 rather than the £4 the book said. I do it this way to help encourage people to try something new rather than just sticking to what they usually buy.

Thanks, I have 25 books now altogether although my mother-in-law insisted on taking 3 and I know I'll only get 1 back (I'll have to put my foot down next campaign lol). I only have until next Thursday anyway to get my orders in and I have days where I am up at the hospital next week for my pregnancy (I might be being induced too so don't want to give myself too much work!). I've managed to get them back off friends and family and will try get another 2 back tonight. Tomorrow I am collecting from 15 houses and I should get 20 books back out and collect on Thursday. So all in all covering 35houses + friends and family, not bad when I only had just over a week for my first campaign.

I didn't realise brochures were so expensive, I will just use my standard 20 for my first few campaigns and use backordering and collecting/redistributing often to cover as much ground as possible! I'm due my baby on the 16th Nov and my next order is due in 19th Nov so it's going to be tricky working it out.

How does backordering work? If I give half my customers C17 next weekend and the other half C18 can I put the order in for both catalogues at the same time?

Will just offer the free gift then and not offer anything in C18 - hopefully enough Xmas offers in the book, and then will do my prize draw (upped to minimum order £10.00) in C1. Will work it out and change them as I go along (I keep changing my mind anyway lol) xxx

Thanks, I'll leave the discount for now and maybe try it as an experiment once I know what I'm doing after a few campaigns! Maybe I'll offer them a discount off certain products anyway and cheekily use backordering so I'm not losing anything. Hmmm there's an idea.
