...I've heard about Avon reassigning streets because reps 'weren't covering them properly' ...
How do Avon figure out if you are covering an area properly anyway??? The only piece of information that I seem to give them that may be of vague use is how many customers you have (which you put at the bottom of the order page). I use this to fill in how many customers have actually bought from me for that particular campaign, is that how others see it or am I doing it wrong?Everyone loves a bargain :beer:0 -

based on the number of sales you put in, allegedly. If you only put in a £10 order and have territory, unless you told your ASM/SL you were on holiday or something, you cannot be canvassing your area properly....
ASMs are supposed to check if we are canvassing, when we last canvassed, how many customers we have on our territory, etc
yes sylvergrunge, that's what I do, put in the total number of customers who have actually ordered from me.0 -
I am thinking about doing this so that I can earn a bit of money to help with the bills and keep myself going having been made redundant.
Can anyone who is doing this tell me if it is actually worth doing and are you managing to make a decent amount per month?
Thanks0 -
How do I contact a customer? I have had an email saying I have a new customer but I cant get my notifications. Its saying that a serious error has occured. Cant get on connects at all now.0

they have some kind of formula that says x amount of houses = y amount of potential customers = z expected revenue!!
Which makes me wonder how they come up with the y. I remember the post on Connects having specific figures for each street (e.g. order total: £49.22).I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

My point exactly  I think they should give more encouragement to reps to recanvass - a gentle prodding e-mail, some free canvassing cards - a few times a year. But then listen when we tell them that some streets are just not that interested. I forgot to add before that I've got a 30-house cul-de-sac that also has yet to put in an order. I have 6 houses that have told me they're interested or have read the book in the past. The rest are non-readers, non-returners, or never-again-ers.
I was looking at my Excel tables and noticed that of all the non-readers I gave another book to... none read it the second time around either. I haven't managed to turn a non-reader into a reader even though I did a free gift offer this time.
EDIT: Oops, one did! An extra customer is great but that was one out of about 20. I also put flyers through non-readers doors on my next round and haven't had any calls or e-mails asking for a brochure.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. It will all depend on how big your customer base is. At first you're given a few streets to do as territory - I got about 80 houses. I got more territory in my second campaign and also did friends and family that time, which is why my order total jumped up. It's looking as if £200-250 will be my total each campaign, but I'm expecting a slump after Christmas. A £200 order total every 3 weeks (the length of a campaign) will get you £50 commission. You then have to pay anywhere between £5 and £10 for brochures depending on how many you order. It's time-consuming for a couple of campaigns, but at least you can fit it around anything else you have to do.I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. As I have recently withdrawn from being an Avon rep, I have quite a few carrier bags and paper bags knocking about so if anyone in the Derbyshire area wants then and is able to collect, please get in touch through PM as I'm sure I can't post my e-mail addy on here
Thanks

Which makes me wonder how they come up with the y. I remember the post on Connects having specific figures for each street (e.g. order total: £49.22).
I asked the question when asking for more territory and my ASM quoted the "magic figures" at me that are produced automatically when requesting territory for a Rep, by an ASM, and think they said something like 20% takeup? or might have been less. I know I tried to do the math and it didn't seem right even then.0 -

ooh well done on gaining a new customer! No idea! E-mail Avon CS and ask them! Sure they can see your account or know who has contacted you to let you know their details.0
