Sarahlou - I remember thinking that as long as I got one order (any value) I'd be happy. I was unlucky and did what is still my non-ordering street first, so I didn't have any orders after my first collection. It's unlikely that you'll get no interest at all first time around, and your £10 minimum spend is very reasonable. Some people set it at £25 or £30, which I think is a bit much for new customers. I'd recommend knocking on doors when dropping your books so you won't give them to people who don't want them, you'll get a sense of how interested people are (a psychological boost even if they don't order first time), and they'll get to see you. If a previous rep wasn't very good it can help for people to see you looking friendly and presentable.

After your first campaign you could get some samples and take them into work. If you like some of the jewellery/handbags/fragrances you could wear them to work.

    Good luck!
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

The Party Pack - I've only got stock indicators against 4 items out of my whole order. If an item from the party pack was out of stock would they not send the rest of the pack?

Hi Sarahlou, and welcome to the thread.

Yes, you are being hard on yourself as you have a cold. I have raging toothache, went to see emergency dentist yesterday and have been given antibiotics but am still in a great deal of pain! It put me off prepping and getting my books out, which I could have done with, as last few days before I order. Am still in a lot of pain and just look at the books, the effort is too much!

Don't buy samples yet, wait and see how you go with your orders, as you may qualify for free samples, and it is better to wait until they are half priced if you are going to buy.

It's like with any new thing, sometimes you do really well the first time, and other times it takes a little while to get kick started.

    Don't give up just yet.

I think the party pack comes as one large item, so if items from it were out of stock, I don't think they would send the party pack. Not sure, as not heard of anyone ordering before and it being out of stock.

I would say it will be delivered in C16 and you will be charged in c16.

I've been trying to find out from the Avon website what you need to do to o from rep to SL. I'm only on my 2nd campaign so guessing it'd be a while yet before I can but cant find the info for looking! Under oppourtunities it tells you the benefits but not how you get to it etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've checked first page but didnt see anything (sorry if I've missed it - baby brain alert!)

You can ask to become an SL at anytime. You could ask now if you want to. Experienced SLs would suggest being a Rep for a little while as it gives you a good idea of the problems Reps come up against, etc, making it easier for you as a SL to guide or give advice.

However, if you are interested in learning more, or getting tagged as SL, speak to your upliner, the ASM or SL who signed you up.

What happens once they have discussed it with you, if you are still interested, they tag you as a Trainee SL. This means they telll Avon you want to become an SL. You have to be tagged as a trainee until you build your team. Think you have to have 5 to change from Trainee to SL. Lozza will no doubt be along to give you the correct info. :)

If you were given a Smart Start leaflet it should say that you'll be entitled to some free samples with your first order if you hit MOV (£78). Call your sales leader or ASM to double-check what freebies you'll get for reaching certain targets. I got about 10 lipsticks (different shades), 10 foundation samples, some Anew serum samples. If you wanted to get a few more you could order from Hello Tomorrow 17 (mum and kids on front - order in campaign 15). They've put the price up in Hello Tomorrow 18 so make sure you order from campaign 15 and not campaign 16. When you do your order there is a drop-down menu that lets you choose between the current brochure and the one before it.

You could put them in a box with a sign on saying free samples but if you think people would take advantage you could keep the box in your desk/locker and show it to people. If you're not keeping the box on your desk you could leave some business cards (or just slips you've printed out) with your details on so people can contact you for a brochure. I'm being cheap at the moment and only using samples on myself, but then I'm only wearing them when Avoning. You could try wearing a different lipstick colour or fragrance from your usual so people might ask you about it/compliment you and you can immediately bring up Avon. Every time I see relatives now I'm thinking, "How long should I wait before getting out the Avon brochure?" :D

Thanks, that's really useful info :)
My plan was to see how I get on in the next few campaigns and go from there but as its coming up to Christmas maybe I wont have a accurate idea of how its going to work out sales wise.

I appreciate your help, thanks a lot :D
