My plan was to see how I get on in the next few campaigns and go from there but as its coming up to Christmas maybe I wont have a accurate idea of how its going to work out sales wise.
I appreciate your help, thanks a lot
As an SL, you still have to do your territory, and you also have to earn a certain amount in your own sales before you start earning from your team of 5. Sorry for sounding so vague but since giving it up, I don't have all the figures to hand, so can't give you more info. You could try PMing Lozza1985, she will be able to tell you.0 -

Hi
Just saying hello! I signed up as a rep on Friday - but am feeling really down about it all today!!!
I put my books through around 20 doors on the street yesterday am (in the pouring rain!) after following the brill tips on page 1, adding little notes, offering a free gift for spends over £10. Going to pick them up Weds and then do the rest of the street...........i'm really worried that no one will order!!!
I took one into work today but nobody seemed to have much interest......i'm full of a cold and feeling rotten...worried I've made a mistake signing up....or maybe I need a slap...lol.
How did everyone else find their first campaign?

Hi Sarahlou and welcome! :hello:
Ah, you are not well - things always seem worse when we're ill! Be kind to yourself and try not to worry.
I'm only on my second campaign and like you, I was really nervous about knocking on doors. So, for moral support, I took my mum with me the first time. (Yes, I know pathetic for a woman of my age). Now I actually enjoy knocking on doors! Like Joyfull, I am the least pushy person ever, but am always really polite and friendly and if someone says they don't want a book again I always smile and say "no problem, sorry to have disturbed you". I haven't yet come across anyone really rude, though I'm sure there will be the odd one. But all you have to think is that you never need to visit them again!
On my first book drop, of 35 books, I only had one order! But then it really picked up and I made HOV on my first campaign, and have already reached MOV on my first book drop this time - mostly people who didn't order first time but now are. I've learned a lot...ie I was a bit timid about putting books through doors with "no junk mail" signs on, but I've had several orders from these houses, so now I just bite the bullet!
Good luck. You will be fine. Don't get downhearted if it doesn't all go to plan at first. I absolutely love the job now - met all my customers today to give them their orders and every single one was really lovely! Just slap on a smile...sure that'll be easier once you're feeling better!0 -
customer services are useless. i just want to cry!Converted comper to MSE. Thank you for all your answers!0

Just did my first order deliveries. I took the advice from here and dropped notes in on Friday to state delivery time. One person wasn't going to be in, so she rang and I delivered it earlier today.
Every single customer was absolutely lovely! All of them had the money there and had a long chat with a couple of them. I really enjoyed it! Also got another lead from it, as one lady said she knew of someone who wanted a book for a sheltered housing complex, where she was a warden! Trouble is, it's not on my territory, though she says no one has dropped a book there. I said I couldn't deliver there but could drop her an extra book in to take to her friend if she wanted. I guess that would be OK? Don't want to tread on anyone's toes, but there's obviously no rep delivering there!
Oh, and I accepted a cheque for one delivery. Hope it'll be OK. She seemed very nice and my gut instinct was to accept. Hope I'm right!
Have had a really busy weekend though and am very tired today. Prepped and delivered a load of books earlier and then sorted my deliveries. But just sitting here and I don't think I put order forms in with my customers' books (the ones I delivered orders too!) AAARGH!! I can't 100% remember but don't think I did. Would you go back and post one through the door for each of them, with a little note to explain?0 -

Ah, don't worry Furby, I had that last Monday night when I was trying to put my order in. Pages wouldn't load on the site and I was in a right panic. I thought it may be down to everyone trying to get their orders in at once. Step away from the computer for 5 minutes, make yourself a cuppa (or something stronger!) and when you go back, hopefully it will be working!0 -
