don't even get me started about ASMs.
Once this is all sorted, just put it behind you and get on with earning lots of money and just talk to us0 -
Just cos your SL gave you 40 books for your first campaign, doesn't necessarily mean they won't give you any for your 2nd campaign, I give all my reps 40 for their first campaign (20 of the current, 20 of the previous camp) if they covering a territory so that they can split their territory from day one, then 20 brochures for their 2nd campaign.
If they don't give you any for your second campaign, follow A's sound advice and email avon and complain...a lot!Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -
Hi everyone, new avon rep here!
I have just started on c16. I have only a week to do it, because the ASM who signed me up is so difficult to get ahold of.. after her initial call to me about signing me up, it took her 4 days to finally get back to me with times she may be available, and then another 4 days to actually have the meeting. So that was a whole week lost... but I am trying not to be discouraged, and just make whatever sales I can in the meantime. I already have several promising leads, and I am lucky in that there doesn't seem to be another Avon rep in my entire neighborhood. So that is a lot of potential customers.
I have a couple questions -
Do you find that the Avon bags are a good price, or would i be better off just going on ebay and finding my own bags? I am mostly concerned with the ones to seal the brochures in when putting them through doors.
I want to order one of the demo bags and some samples. Which is better, the cheaper demo bag or the slightly more expensive one? What samples are the most useful to get?
My ASM has not given me the HT yet and so i haven't been able to look over any of the sales aids that Avon offers.
Thanks so much0 -
Hi j.avon
you can ask your ASM to put you through on C17, which would give you more time to canvass your territory.
I prefer to buy my bags from ebay. I must find the links and amend the first page.
Don't order any demo bags and samples yet. If they are still doing the Smart Start Scheme you will qualify for samples anyway, and I think possibly a bag.
For HT, look at the first page, Avon Connects, I will put a link to current HTs.0 -

Probs been asked before so apologies but are the samples Smart Start automatically sent with your first order or do you have to order it with your first order if you meet the requirements?0 -
They automatically send any samples that you qualify for. As a new rep placing an order between C15-18 you can also order yourself a free anew skincare pack when you submit your first order - ask whoever signed you up for the details, long as your first order is £78 or more then you'll get that as well - good for free gifts if you don't want to use it yourself.Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0

Just be careful with avon, my wife did it and found the first few campaigns made a bit of money but in the end it worked out peoples orders got smaller and she would drive to drop off her book, drive to pick it up then drive back to deliver the goods and some of the customers only spent a fiver so she made about 1.25 and out of that she had to buy the books the bags and pay for her petrol, needless to say she has stopped doing it but they were really difficult with her as she had some returns and because she left they were funny about sorting them out until I emailed one of the Directors.0

Yes, sometimes folks get really excited about a new rep and go mad on their first order. Sometimes folks only order every other brochure as they have spent a lot on their last order. But its like all consumables - they all get used up and more are required. Avon can be hard work but the more customers you can pick up along the way, the better prepared you are for leaner times (like New Year).
Sorry your wife had problems - maybe she should give it another go?Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Thanks for the tips - I have made a list of things to ask my ASM when I next speak with her. Thank you for the HT link. Now I can see how much the bags cost.
Yes, I am being careful... I have worked in retail and sales before, and I already work for myself, so I am very aware of spending and budgeting. Thankfully I have no need to drive anywhere, as I am out and about in London a lot anyway, and there are loads of streets around my neighborhood that I will be free to canvass.0 -
p.s. has anyone tried the skin so soft tanning sprays? do they turn you orange? LOL.0
