  • Hi Ladies

I am looking at trying a new foundation and am going to give Avon a go. Any advice gratefully received. I'm looking at either Ideal Shade or the Perfectwear but cannot decide.

I want a pretty good coverage (not too many imperfections) but not wanting to look orange or caked on. Luckily my rep is another mum at the school so I see her daily. She said I can order more than one shade and try before I buy but don't want to take the mickey and order too much. My last foundation was by Benefit and it was a pan stick (just like a big concealer stick really), I loved it and would go back but want a cheaper option.

I usually go for a natural beige type colour but am wondering how the Avon shades work, are they 'normal' or darker that I may be expecting? I'm sure I want a shade from the medium section.

    Thank you all.

Silver gift bags - I also got loads of these. Was expecting 11 big silver ones and got at least 15 of the smaller ones. Only 2 of my customers ordered the bags for themselves (from C17 and C18) so I had lots of big ones left over from the previous campaign. Offered them around to everyone with their delivery and most people went for the large silver ones because they were plain. People only took the small ones if they were giving Avon as a gift. Maybe they didn't want a clue telling people what their present was ;)

Going to save mine for if I do an open day or something like that.

Ahh! More snow! Noooo! Let's watch everything grind to a halt for far too long again. Husband was running down the garden with a bag of rubbish after we spotted some binmen with the truck and everything but he didn't get there in time. Someone else had done the same thing and was standing in the street out of breath with some bin bags. Got to try that delivery again tonight. Don't have their number...
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for. :( I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Thank you - I will phone tomorrow. I didn't get an invoice with my order at all, I only have the copy I printed off my account.

You're very welcome and that explains it then. Your return labels will be stapled to the back of your invoice - wherever that is.... Sometimes they go AWOL - last campaign I got another rep's invoice in with mine. Did think of posting it onto her but assumed she could/would do as you did (and maybe it could be perceived as a breach of confidentiality somehow) so I didn't bother. Am now wondering whether I should've posted it on rather than destroying it? What do others think?

MC. I would have returned it to Avon with a note to say they had sent it with your order, so they had a record of where it went.

Welcome to this thread, BF; sorry, no-one's yet guided you in the right direction but hopefully you'll get come help later today. I only tend to wear the Radiance tinted moisturiser, which is a strange little product; it blends to suit every skin tone but doesn't give much coverage so probably not much use to you. Avon used to do a Mousse Foundation in stick form too but it's only been in Clearance lately - your rep may be able to pick you one up though. Hope someone with first-hand knowledge comes along to help you soon.

Nice thought to give your customers a choice - wasn't an option in my case though because I got all large ones with my C18 order and all small ones with my C1 order. Did get 'quite a few extra' thanks to creative ordering - surprising how the same priced goods in C18 qualified for free bags but not in C17 ;) - so gave some as freebies to my customers but I also sold some @ 50p when I did parties in the run up to Christmas. Yes, am officially evil - fancy selling something I got free! :j

  • I only got double the amount! Mind you, mine were creatively ordered so used some for pressies for customers.

Those entitled to a free one, I have given it to them as an item brand new, not used to put their order in. That way the customer can use them as they wish.

Yes, am with you, the large ones I gave wrapped to customers so they could use them but the small ones I am using to deliver orders - never occurred to me that they'd want to use them with Avon slashed across the front but you never know!

    Hi BF!
What brochure do you have at the moment? I really like the magix stuff. I did acquire a pan stick one from clearance as well though, and wish I had bought more now as I love it. Typical!! Has your rep not got any samples you could try at all?
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

with samples missmix, you need to order the shade the customer would like to try, it's difficult to have enough samples for each different type of customer, which is why blooming freezing's rep suggested ordering what she would like to try.

One of my friend's decided to try avon's foundation for the first time, she really likes nude smooth minerals foundation. She said everyone comments on how lovely her face looks and she likes the way it covers her skin. She has the type that has large pores and shows up heavily under the wrong foundation. With this one, you can barely tell she has large pores and her skin looks lovely.

This one has a lot of reviews on the avon website
