  • OK I know this isnt Avon related but got to vent somewhere. Just picked my son up from Nursery to be told that he has been bitten by another child today (they did say the child got told off for it) and he also has a cut on his face but they dont know how this happened as he was in the garden area at the time. My son has speech problems so cant tell us what happened but the scratch looks like it was done by a finger nail and he has a couple of other marks on his face (red not broken skin) which look like scratches. I feel soo bad from him even tho he seems fine.

As parents, we always feel bad when the little ones get hurt but kids will be kids and get into all kinds of scrapes (and fights).

I have a grown up son and daughter and now have two grandsons aged 2 and 5. My daughter has her hands full with them :rotfl:

My son (now age 24) was born with kidney problems and had a transplant 2 years ago. He is also partially deaf and wears hearing aids. Despite that, he took his knocks like any other kid.

The only time we kicked up a big fuss was when he got bullied really badly (he ended up in hospital) at school when he was 13. Even when the bullies were reprimanded, the bullying continued so we were left with no option other than to withdraw our son from the education system and teach him at home. We found out later that our son wasn't the only one being bullied - there were several others.

We eventually got him into another school which didn't tolerate bullying but we had to take it to Court first.

My son grew up to be a well-balanced adult :D

Sounds to me like there may be a lack of supervision at your son's nursery school, which, with such little ones, is not acceptable.

    Can you find another nursery?
  • I've calmed down a bit now. Thanks for your replies. They did say that they have really told the biter off but I do think that there was a lack of supervision as they were doing cooking today so that was one less teacher in the class. It's just made me wonder if this is the reason why he has been clinging to me the last week when I leave him there. :o I think I will have a chat with them on wednesday and see how things go.

Avon wise I just had an email from my ASM that has been sent to the whole of the area thanking me for suggesting a new rep to her. Unfortunatly she got my name wrong lol :D I emailed her and she was very apologitic but has made me giggle

Oh no how bad, those nursery workers should be supervising the children, I know it can be quite hard when you have x amount of children in but you still try your best to make sure nothing happens to those children in your care. hopefully it wont happen again hope he's ok ((hugs to him))

DS slept better last night, actually fell asleep early cuddling me, went to bed without his bottle :) but still woke in night for them. But he is sore from nursery incident, so am writing a strong note for them on Monday. Was not going to return him, but have found another nursery, but need to sort out money, etc first, and then can put him in there.

I know it is difficult to supervise little ones especially when there are quite a few under 5, and you can't watch every single one at the same time, but you can keep an eye on them. Sorry to hear about your DS Minigirl, I was wondering why my DS refused to go into childminder's and clung to me, I think because he knew there weren't many children there for him to play with.

The nursery yesterday, the children all came upto DS :) and asked him his name and one little boy started playing with him! I liked that! What a friendly nursery :)

it never used to be this hard! I remember when my niece was going to nursery and pre school.

Anyway back to Avon. They should hire me to be their trendsetter and ensure they have enough stock!
  • Thanks everyone. As its the school nursery Im going to see how it goes as I want him to make friends there so they can all go up to Reception together. (Also the school is oppisite my house lol.

I cant understand why Avon has been so bad this year. Can only think they are not buying as much stock in because of the money situation ( like the rest of us) or just dont want to be left with loads of stock. But you would think this is why they have trendsetters.

minigirl - I understand your phobia... my teeth are really bad because of a phobia caused partly by my childhood dentist (may he rot in hell!) and my parents also being very vary of dentists... so I'm getting them all fixed now and hope that I can instill some faith in my daughters view of dentists...
The good news is that the complex extraction he's taken another x-ray off and thinks he might be able to save it with a root canal... hooray - more pain! Grumble grumble
My own daft fault - shouldn't have let things get this bad before facing my fears but that's easier said than done :(

  • MrsTine I admire your bravery lol. I'd be quite happy to have all my teeth pulled out and implants put in but haven't got the money. Maybe I should start saving all my Avon commision lol

I'm 100% with you!!! I'd have that done in a heartbeat too if I could afford it!
I think only people with dentist phobia can possibly understand that though :(

sorry, i'm sure this has been asked before, but i just can't find it anywhere.

i meant to return a few items (they had already been put in as credits online) today, my delivery day. But the driver came to the office when only my husband was there, so the returns did not get given to the driver.

can i just send them back next order, or will they already re-charge me for them? these were returns from c16.
