Dentist is going to cost me more I think ;) Thankfully I have dental insurance (just as well lol) Tomorrows visit alone is going to be 3 x £80 (3 white fillings on private all covered!) - then there is a root canal, a possible bridge and a complex extraction... yay... *sigh*

    I hate dentists!

  • hey dont worry - i have discovered that the key to avon is

    PERSISTENCE PERSISTENCE PERSISTENCE :D

also, remember to be friendly and approachable and reliable. :rotfl:

the thing is you dont know what the rep before you was like, they may have been extremely unreliable, taken orders and never delivered, etc etc, and a rep that does half a job is worse than no rep in my book! so once you have shown that you are organised and they see that you leave a book and collect it when you say you will, then they will start to order from you!

do you put an introduction letter in with your books?
when i canvass new roads i put a tick box note in asking if they would like to recieve books/if they have a rep/never leave a book EVER again. (in joke :rotfl:) and this is quite effective because then you will ultimately find out who NOT to drop a book to and who you can remain persistent with. if you want me to send you my template pm me your email address. of course if you are brave enough you could knock on peoples doors which is always a good way to gauge if they are interested or not and if people see a friendly face they may be more inclined to order?! but i'm not that brave.....

I did this. I even made nice little business cards with telephone number and e-mail on.

Some had looked at the brochure, most had not and none of them could be bothered to tick the little check box saying "I do not wish to receive a brochure in future".

Interestingly, I put free samples in - and no-one took any of the free samples. How strange. People turning down a freebie? Must be something in the water!!!

I did get one good order from that street though so as the lady in question had put her e-mail addy on, I dropped her an e-mail thanking her for her order and if there was anything else she required or had any queries, to contact me.

I got a very nice reply from her :D

Now I'm hoping she goes and tells her neighbours and friends :D
  • MrsTine - I feel your pain with the dentist. I really should go as got toothache and one of my crowns have fallen out but Im sooooooo scared of the dentist so havent quite got there :o And then theres the cost  doesnt help but if they need to do anything above looking I have to be sedated as Im that bad so thats more cost :(

Going to try and be organised and start prepping my books today (if I can)

minigirl, do you get working tax credits? if so, find and NHS dentist, you won't have to pay.
  • Aureol its not so much the paying lol it the smell and the sounds of the dentist eerrggghh. HATE it. I usually end up crying if I have to go and I have to be pretty desparate to go lol. Got to be strong tho coz got to register my son at a dentist.
  • Hmmm im reading this email about order early for c.5 but I dont really see what benefit there is of doing that...?
  • If its like the one I did a little while you dont actually get the stuff til C5 so yes its all ordered but a long wait for the stuff. Also you can get it earlier by ordering out of HT instead
