Starting to wonder if i should even bother again, ive signed up to Avon once before but quit after getting four different lots of territory that were already covered... looks like some things are not meant to be lol
since avon are so cr*p at sorting out who has what territory, i say just choose some for yourself. find out by knocking on a few doors when the last time someone on a street saw an avon book. if no one has seen a rep, take it! let them sort it out later. they are obviously not keeping track in any meaningful way, so the reps have to fix things for themselves! sorry you are having a rough time. what books did you need? c18 or c1? i bought a lot of each so maybe i could send you a few? not that many but at least some to use for f&f?0 -

My SL was meant to be dropping round campaign 18 brochures due to her messing up on my order dates etc but hasnt grrr!! Was hoping to get them out today to the rest of my territory that i didnt manage to do last campaign so not totally impressed atm. right getting back on track, does anyone know where I can get bags that will fit brochures in, the ones I pick up are either too small or too big I've got some on order but need some in the mean time that are cheap any ideas???
if you go to a cheap supermarket or even tesco, go to the aisle which has cling film and tinfoil for food storage. on that aisle will also be things like freezer bags and sandwich bags. have a look at those. some of the off brand ones will fit brochures and are cheap enough.0 -
Does anyone know how long it takes for credits to appear on your balance online? I was unable to deliver a lot of my stuff so used code 52 online on Friday but the credits have yet to appear on my account. I want to pay the money that I have collected and place a new order but i don't think I'll be able to place a new order until my full balance is paid will I???0

What Avon do, is they don't show you your credits, until you start to pay some of your balance. Deduct the cost of your returns, but remember it is your cost price, not the price you charge the customer, and pay your bill by this amount. You will find the credits come up on your account then, and will automatically be credited for the remaining amoutn.0

I put my credits through then pay a small amount, say £10 off the outstanding amount. Then within 24 hours it will have processed the credits & payment and it shows the amount left to pay

Hmm... been considering Sales Leadership for about a month now. ASM has given me a few things to get started and get my first 3 reps. I've given prospecting cards to my customers (with my own little flyer to explain how it works) and got no response. Spoke to a few of them. One would be interested but in a few month's time, the other people said they didn't have the time to do it, even as F+F reps. But aside from my own half-hearted attempts to build a team, there's a pretty fundamental problem that makes me think I'm not so keen:
The territory system is a complete mess. I know Kittenclaws gave pretty much the same reason a while ago. But it seems that I'm reading a few posts a day on Connects where people have just started out and all their streets are done by someone else. I could encourage people to be just f+f, but some will really want territory. I got a list of free streets to do an expired brochure drop on and 3 of them were mine that I got when I first started. Same postcodes, same house numbers. Now I'm looking at the rest of the streets on the list and thinking they could well be taken, too, so if I sign up a rep and say X is free it doesn't mean it is. I've only been doing Avon for 4 campaigns so I don't think my streets were de-allocated that quickly.
I'm also very cynical about the need to get more and more reps. Taking it to the extreme, if every person in the UK was a rep we'd only have ourselves as a customer. If 50% of the population was we'd only have ourselves and 1 other person. The more reps you have, the smaller everyone's territory/customer base will end up being. Avon still makes money, but as individuals we could end up barely making anything if we've only got a tiny territory and F+F to work with. You can see that already in areas where there are loads of reps and people who wanted territory give up on that and have to just do F+F.
Not sure if I want to be a part of that. I'm not saying any SL on here are ruthlessly building their teams like thatBut the idea that you could be one of the ones earning 30k or more a year... There's just not enough potential reps in the country to enable all of us to reach that level. I think it harms the reps to be trying to recruit even more reps here, there, and everywhere.
I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

hey Melvis
some of the ladies on here would like to see how to sell Avon on FB, can you become friends with them to show them your FB pageplease

I said this a few thread ago I, Geek and someone told me that obviously people stop being reps and you can always recruit more, which is true, but I feel the same way you do, there will come a time when you are having to go further afield to recruit as your area will be saturated.0

And as for the Territory recording system, is it SMA? Can't remember the name of it now! They need to a thoroughly good audit, get it upto date once and for all and keep it updated!0

I realise that some people are having a rough time with territory, but PLEASE don't encourage new reps to just cover wherever they feel like.
I worked hard to canvass my first lot of territory for 8 months solid, every single campaign without fail.
I am not able to canvas it at the moment due to personal reasons, and am hoping to be able to canvas again at the beginning of next year.
While I realise that I should be canvassing it, I fully intend to when I am able again, and in the meantime would not appreciate it if a new rep started dropping to it my roads because they thought they should just drop where they felt like it.
Thanks, and sorry for the moan.0
