Yep, ours is 'on' all year in that it is controlled by a thermo and clicks on when the temp drops - this morning was the first morning its clicked on in a long while, I was suprised when I noticed as I was snug in my dressing gown but when I had my shower I was glad it had!

its not come on during the day though

I have to admit i've had mine today and the fire on the gas fire on the past couple of days.

Me and DS2 feel the cold in our joints due to our hypermobilty

Sorry to ask this on a thread completely about something else, but Kezlou, does Hypermobility actually get worse in the cold? I have suffered for many years, and the docs hasn't diagnosed but is 99% sure its Hypermobility. I have been in agony at night for the past few nights (went to be at 845last night as it hurt so much). I didn't know it got worse in the cold?!?!

I finally put it on for an hour at 4 am as I was freezing, first time in months.

  • Yes! We never switch it off. How else do we get Hot Water during the summer!

And this morning, the programmable thermostat noticed that the temperature had dropped sufficiently for the radiators to come on. It did not last.

yes, it is thermostatically controlled, at least centrally. In practice what happens is that the towel rail comes on in the bathroom (brrr!) and the little radiator in the airing cupboard only, because the other radiators are turned off :D

London, but I may be armed with hormones ;)

I'm in London too and with hormones but my north facing living room was 15c last night so we tested the heating for an hour.
Even with my thermal top and jumper on I felt chilled to the bone after a flush.
I liked last Thursday 29c Bliss :D and not a flush in sight :D

Even if your not putting your heating on folks, do run it just for a few mins to keep the pump and fan moving.
You don't want to find out it doesn't work when you need it on.

Not on here either yet, trying to hold off as long as possible, it is 18 degrees in the sitting room, but I will pop on a cardi first, tonight is not so bad as I have a chicken in the oven and have left the kitchen door open so the heat escapes throughout the house.

Please remember folks anyone with health problems, please put your heating on if you are cold, everyone's circumstances are different.
