GCH heating been on all day, as its only been 1 degree outside, to hell with a cold house, ive now got it off and I have my open fire alight, only need this 1 room heated of a night........

I prepare all summer for the winter months, ; pay DD all year, so theres credit on the metres, buy coal at summer prices , so I really dont mind how cold winters get cos im well prepared for whatever the weather throws at us...

One thing for sure we get winter every year............

Open fire is on, heating up the water too and eventually the radiators. CH is off. Living room was 8.5 degrees when I got up this morning! Is up to 19.5 now with the fire :)

Yep, I pay through the summer so I have a bit of credit on the account to see us through winter too. I am rheumatic and my husband has asthma so the cold would neither of us too much good. Hopefully it will warm up soon!
PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!
  • Only had the heating on a couple of times over the last few weeks, just had a wood burner installed and find no need for the heating to be on, best money we have ever spent.

Unfortunately I live with someone who insists the fire be on from when she gets up, until she goes to bed!

My partner and I literally strip off to not alot as we roast, but the person we live with won't listen to our protests - and we all pay equal Electricity :(

Most definitely ON here with timer (7.00am-9.00am / 7.00pm-10.00pm) - with the gas fire on occasionally during the day while the timer is OFF.

I'd forgotten just how lovely and warm a gas fire can be - I've had over 6yrs without one!

Mine has been on low over this cold snap,it's a lot warmer today so it's off now.Hopefully it will stay milder,I have built up some credit so can have it on for a while if it does turn nasty again.

My problem is OH he will sneak it on when I'm out which I would'nt mind if he had layers on, when he's sat in a T shirt its just not on

Girlfriend is not working at the moment, so have the heating on every day at 7am, and off every day at 10pm - set to 22 degrees too since we both like it nice and warm.

Not looking forward to the next bill!

The family is away atm, so the heating set to 13 and I'm in a hat and bodywarmer, apart from that I'm quite comfortable really.
When they are here it's set to 15, which my Mum thinks is bordering on child abuse, not withstanding the fact she grew up in a house with no CH...

I just tell them to get a jumper on, which they mostly seem to do without and can't be bothered  so it can't be that bad :D
