On the radio they have said even if the buying of wholesale gas does not increase next winter expect many bills to still be around the £2,000 annually. Yeah right, the bill be that if people can afford to have it on in the first place. Why the increase...improving the system that delivers it and the green policy of the government:mad:

So if you can't afford it now...

Good grief!!! TWO GRAND A YEAR!!!!! ( sorry for hollerin')

I'll have to put me tent up in me living room and move into that.

    Or a sleeping bag!

Or we need some loved ones or friends that we feel ok to snuggle up to...:p

That won't do me any good...I know someone(well a couple)he was a dentist by profession, they now in his 80's and you'd think he would be on a good pension...they go to bed in the daytime to keep warm, economise on food and live much as the OS'ers on here and his health is poor so being warm is a necessity so that's how bad it is...

So if professionals are struggling...it must be bad.

  • I have two storage heaters on for the whole flat. I could have done without but my child had a cough and he comes first -he's really sensitive to the cold.

Still off here and it's not that I'm being hardy, I just don't feel the need. It has been very wet but not really cold.

    Morning :)
Heating on for 30mins here this morning. I think this will be the normal routine from now on, 30mins in the morning, and 30mins in the evening if needed.

We're paying just short of £3,500 a year for our oil and electricity. There are no other suppliers for us, so it's put up and shut up.
