Heating was on for couple hours this morning, but its been sunny here all day and most of my windows are very large and we are south facing so the house is quite toasty.......

    Morning.
i finally caved in and put the heating on, after the kids were moaning they couldnt get out of bed it was so cold.
It went on at 8.41 and off at 8.50, just just under 10mins.
Wont be putting it on again today.

Still off but everywhere is beginning to feel damp so I think it will end up on today.

I've had to put it on the last 2 nights purely to dry OH's work clothes but it's only been on for a couple of hours.
I usually try to last until well into October but it's felt so damp this last week.

Still not using it in a morning though!

My living room windows face south-west, so we get a nice burst of late afternoon/evening sun, which is just perfect for getting a bit of warmth into the room before I settle down for the evening! :o

My heating comes on at 6 am and I usually keep it on for an hour..........Its now starting to turn a bit chilly so its now going on, I have been wearing a fleece for the past 2 weeks , so if im cold with that on then its time to put the heating on.........

It soon gets up to 21 degrees within 20 mins of the boiler going on , loads of insulation, it holds the heat very well..........I will not be cold.....
  • Like some others, mine is set to come on if it goes below 17 when I'm expected to be in the house. It's only come on once so far and that was for the morning wake-up call and I was quick to turn it back off!

My solutionin the evening if I get cold is to run up and downstairs a few times. As a fatty this works a treat!

Have just started putting the heating on for a short while. I had pnuemonia during the summer so a bit wary of getting a chill. I am wearing an extra fleece if I'm cold watching tv. Got a lovely fleecy rug too.

No heating on, although I have now put up my winter curtains at front door (opens straight into my living space), can't seem to measure curtain length to save my life , they are about 6 inches off the floor, so will add some fleece as a skirt.

I am using my small dehumidifier and that is certainly making a difference, the air is not so damp plus the damp dog smell is going. Have loads of quilts and woolly blankets plus a slanket on standby, so as long as it's not as bad as 2010, when I was wearing a hat and gloves indoors and temp was reading "warning of hypothermia", I should be ok. Not even wearing pj's yet, although that may be TMI. :o:rotfl:

Ok, I've relented and put my heating on :o Only for an hour though just to take the chill out of the house.
