Our heating is off, however i got so wet yesterday i did have to put it on to dry my coat before going back out on school run. so i had heating on and windows open ,lol.

definatly chilly of evenings tho, but we've all got extra blankets on beds and have throws on sofa to snuggle.
  • It was cool enough here this morning. It's been very wet and windy for the last number of hours. It's been a bit cooler as well so heat had to go on again this morning.

    :(
  • Mine comes on by itself if the house gets bellow 180C. It came on for the first time Sunday afternoon. I think the kids had been in and out leaving the door open as if it were summer. I noticed the radiators warm on Monday morning but not since then.

It is raining cats and dogs here, so the heating is off today - and I hope that it stays that way for a while!

I would love a warm house again as I remember it when Mum was here and her pension meant it could be afforded but I don't see that ever happening again.

In the 21st century in a supposedly economy rich country it seems wrong being cold. I am under a duvet at 3pm on a weekday afternoon and still cold.

But I am still refusing to put the heating on if I can help it. And will do all that I can to make use of all the ways I learn on here to get around the problem and hope all the things I have invested in thermals, extra clothes, warm drinks, bed socks, hot water bottles will help.

If next year I am allowed to get a lodger in and one wants to join me and it does allow me extra income perhaps I will be able to put the heating on again for longer.

  • Still no heating going on here. Hopefully it'll stay that way until well into October at least.
It has been chilly in the mornings the past few days, but once I'm dressed and moving about, I warm up quickly.
I haven't found evenings too cold yet. A hot bath around 7-8pm tends to keep me warm for the rest of the evening, particularly if teamed with my nice thick dressing gown!

  • Gave in and put it on for a couple of hours the last two evenings as was still cold despite wearing thermals and blanket on the settee and copious cups of tea.
