On, it is only an oil filled radiator and it is supposed to be on for two hours in the evening, but getting the timer working didn't work yesterday, so we had a lovely warm house. I'm hoping two hours will be enough for a while.

I do not notice the cold, but today it is chilly in the house, so I have just given it a quick blast at 20 degrees to warm the front room for when the OH gets back. All the other rads are off, but it still pains me to turn the heating on (albeit briefly) before November has arrived.

We had the heating on last night and when I came home at lunchtime today I have put the heating on. The labrador is not too well and we have to take him to the vets this afternoon, as long as he is warm and comfortable that is what counts for us at the moment.

I posted not a week ago saying we put on a cardi etc and try to avoid turning the heating on for at least another month.

Last night i was really cold, despite a jumper, socks and a fleecy blanket thing over me. I succumbed and put the heating on for an hour. It soon went off again though!

My GCH is on now , its at 21 degrees and we do now have some much needed rain, the wind is blowing a gale , I guess now its all downhill from here....
I remember October 1 st lasy year it was 81 degrees and we were swimming in the sea, cant see that happening this year, without a miracle.....;)
  • Heating on?....is it October yet?. No we've not had any heating on.....of any description since May. Did put a duvet on top of the flannelette sheets & bedspread last night though. We're in the North West and it's been chucking down all day. Off to make afternoon cuppa now.

I have sheets but not blankets to think of so may have to consider buyng some, I remember flanelette blankets, then again if I put a thicker continental quilt on the bed, wear PJ's or use thermals, use hot water bottles, electric blankets, any of the above, I may be alright, even have bedsocks...but it's really cold here...
